Single channel will halved ur memory performance in bandwidth. Ive tried on gaming, superPi etc. Single Channel really effect performance.

What mobo do u use? Just upgrade lor. PD 4.8GHz just the same as stock E6600. If ur mobo cant support C2D then it cant be helped.

which one better?1 stick=1gbram or 2 stick=1gbram?

If ur buying DDR2 straight away go for 2GB, cheap already. Furthermore 1GB module has better value for the future(if u want to throw it to garage sale).

I think all overclockers do it for hobby and maybe for extreme sifus like shamino from Vr-Zone he maybe get side income by promoting enthusiast hardware to public.

There should be somthing wrong. Even with value ram and and 8x multiplier E6420 the oc should go higher than urs. Try playing with divider.

From now my e6600 loading at 67C for 3.6GHz @ 1.5v. Hopefully this will not kill my proc for 24/7 usage. Fail orthos but ok for gaming for hours.

Not really weird... If you have TM2 on it will drop the multiplier after 60c.

Did you check your actual speed with CPU-Z ? smile.gif
*
The multiplier will not drop since I disabled the feature. The speed was 3.6GHz

I told u b4, its really locked. 290x11=3.19GHz. Sure still bootable and will give u blue screen coz not enuf power. Now try 333x8. I am sure u cant boot coz it actually runs 333x11.

Can anyone give me a handbook or something 4 overclock my rig?
im using AMD dual core 4400,mobo AN52S,ram values select corsair 1GB, GC XFX 8500GT 256MB

For me when first time I oc I just get into the bios and play around. Make sure not to set voltage unnecessarily. Increase the FSB step by step. For amd u need to get the HTT multiplier according to fsb increase. Naturally X2 HTT should not over 1GHz but some mobo can handle it. Gd luck.
