QUOTE(attacusatlas @ May 26 2011, 02:47 PM) what is the rule of sizing down for dior? is it the same as nudie raw ie size down by 2? Quoted from the other thread, brought it here for reference. Uhm.. it is vanity sized. My TTS is 29/30 ish, for a good fit. But since DH is vanity sized, I go down 1, to 28, And then people say that it is sorta like APC, coz it has a wee bit of elastane in it, so I sized down one more to achieve this snug fit. Size down 2 is good enough. Phenomenal fit mate! I will be going out in it soon.

QUOTE(Emery @ May 28 2011, 01:30 PM) Greetings denimheads out there! Need some advice regarding LVC's sizing. If i'm planning to cope a pair of raw 47's 501, how much should i size up by? Or should i just get my normal size. For instance, I'm a W30 and i usually wear W29-30 for raws depending on the brand and fitting. Thanks in advance (: for me personally i would go TTS..thats is how i size my Pure Blue Japan and The Flat Head...but one up is cool...

Erm... u know how how certain people from certain parts of the world are obese like .... ? "Many commentators have suggested that "vanity sizing," as its name suggests, is designed to satisfy buyers' wishes to appear thin and feel better about themselves." "It has been suggested that vanity sizing merely reflects the increasing prevalence of obesity." http://women.timesonline.co.uk/tol/life_an...icle7100795.eceIn short, it's to make you think you're slimmer than you are. Often prevalent in British and now, European clothing lines, modern clothing from say, Topshop, Miss Selfridge, A.P.C. etc, etc tend to do this. So if you're a true size 30 and find you can fit in a "size 28" as if it was a size 30, that has been vanity sized. The name makes it quite obvious yeh

Get the ones that come in aerosol cans.

its been said countless times that raw jeans can touch water and its not forbidden. some ppl actually , to the extent of not wearing the jeans cause its raining. if you wash them, it just slow down the fading process and not harmless for people who prefer their jeans having the darker indigo colour.
so just keep wearing them as usual, plus apc fades fast, so no real worries there.

Not washing for a longer period only increases the contrast. Contrast is the difference in colour, or colour opposition if you will.
The contrast on raw jeans would be dark virgin indigo on the surfaces of the parts of the jeans that do not crease and are not exposed to friction of any sort. The lighter indigo part would be surfaces of the jeans that has been through some form of wearing out - creases behind the knees, causing the denim to brush against each other, back-pocket fades, front-pocket fades, crotch crease fades, and ankle fades obviously.
Not washing for a long time increases contrast, and because you keep it dry for a long period of time, it wears out faster than ever. That being said, there are loads of people who get beautiful contrast on their jeans, so the "non-washing" part of raw jeans is actually overplayed.
Lurk on mynudies more to see what I'm talking about.

^^ really good explanation by Grimm there.
Many raw jeans turn out beautiful despite washing them quite frequently after the 6 months period for washing your jeans the first time.
