QUOTE(Chocobos @ Apr 19 2011, 07:06 AM) To wash or not to wash? unless it's really Levi's from the mid 50s no one would want it.Hi guys. I would like some help on vintage denim. Recently we bought a bundle of used clothes and some of them looks like vintage denim shorts. Since I don't see many M'sians wear this kind of stuff, we intend to sell it online like on Ebay. However, we don't know whether we should wash them first or just sell it as is. Some have like tape residue, soils, stains etc on it. Which one is preferred by vintage collecters/buyers? Thanx in advance for all help. |

QUOTE(Grimm @ Apr 23 2011, 04:19 PM) Bro i not sure about it, I saw at hypebeast forum. He complain about send to tailor Here the original msg QUOTE I had a similar problem..Last week got my apc NS's hemmed a couple inches and I noticed she cut the original leg opening (original stitching), cut the few inches off I requested, and then stitched the part with the original hem to the rest of the pants (with dark thread so it wouldn't be noticed)...pictures below..at first I was like wtf and yes the selvage line is f***ed but im over it..I don't cuff them and the fit is still the same..these jeans didn't cost me too much anyway (can't say the same for you Jip)..I think the reason why everyone is contradicting your idea's Jip is because many here see getting jeans for the purpose of f***ing them up and getting fades |

That way of hemming is actually the luxury way of doing it. It preserves the fade of the original hem.

But it looks shitty as hell. As long as he doesn't fold his cuffs up, that should be alright. Nobody's gonna notice.
Anyway, decided to throw my Nudies Grim Timm to the crows. I really have no opportunity to rotate 3 pairs. I'm having 2 pairs on rotation and that's enough. Check my siggy if you like. Cheap Nudies tau. |
