Hi there....

Anyone onboard the MAS 737800 before to Taipei? I've been to Air Asia X before and it's a 9 seater per row while MAS 737800 is a 6 seater per row.
Which flight is better in terms of the seats and facilities?

For me Air Asia A330 much comfortable compare to MAS narrow B737-800. Although MAS having food but due to the limited toilets (only 2 serving economy class..the que to the toiltes are horrible. The seat also similar to AAX

Don't compare how many seats per row, but compare how many aisle serving the whole aircraft.
737 is horrible because there is only a single aisle, you can wait up to 30 minutes from the entrance of the plane to get to your seat, and also when departing from the aircraft.
A330 is guaranteed having 2 aisle, which is much more comfortable.

First of all. Air Asia X's Airbus A330-300 is a widebody aircraft, it has twin aisle thus it able to accommodate more seats in a single row.

No comment on the seat pitch but of course you should expect more on the services from MH because it SUPPOSE to be a full service carrier.

The seat to my suprise just like AA black leather seats & reclining level same like AA..abit only.. sad.gif ..The worst enduring the ques to the 2 toilets.. mad.gif + people walking up & down and also leaning beside you queing for the 2 toilets!! We can't use the business class toilets!! mad.gif

are you referring to the latest 737 800 with new cabin i.e. touch screen on each seat etc? that flight is actually much better and the aisle slightly wider compared to the older 737... I actually manage to squeeze through the cart...

I'm not sure whether they change the plane but it was 737-800 plane for sure but during 2008, they just leased few units and Taipei got that unit way back in Dec 2008...Verry narrow & worst than A330..furthermore..the Inflight entertainement is shared wth others...This is 737-800 to Taipei...check the similar to AA black seat!

So avoid any 737 if going long hour irregardless of whether AA or MAS or any type of plane...suffer man...especially waiting for toilet..Even they switch to the newer 737 but the fact, economu class cabin having only 2 toilets..chialak laio doh.gif

Eva and China Airlines are both using A330 to Taipei. Not sure about Air Asia. Most of the time when I check the ticket price, Air Asia is more expensive than both of them.

Plane used for Taipei is A330, estimated flight time is 4 Hrs 40 Mins.
This is confirmed on their website.

afaik, all AAX uses A330 with the exception of UK with 340.
