Comes with DRL or not also nevermind la.... u buying it not for that feature also. Not every car looks nice with DRL anyway. I still think Audi looks the best with it. The new E-Class punya DRL sucks.
*
I bet anyone will be excited to know if their upcoming rides will come with some bonuses apart from the standard specification. Having the desire to know hence asking is totally normal

Having something extra/different to differentiate a newer batch of the car is also a good thing. On the other hand, if it really looks bad on a gti, then we can sell it for some cash to fund other mods right? hehe

i am sure any upcoming golf gti/tsi owner will be curious too smile.gif

how much dude ? any pic ? and wat's the experience ? better than the OEM installed in our cars ?ty

I cant compare it as I still haven get my GTI. But then it is the best wiper i'd used before. Smooth, quiet and it have chemical compounds that makes rain beads up on your windscreen (if your windscreen is not chemically treated, this effects only last for about a month, which is my case). Visibility is excellent smile.gif

edit: forgot to mention the price, it is about rm190 per pair smile.gif

hi all.....just collected my Tornado red GTI today! Btw I saw another car Golf TSI there at glenmarie when i go collect my car and almost mistaken it as my car.....the reason being that the Golf TSI is same color as mine, and the number plate is only 1 alphabet different (WVD vs WVE) while number is same! For a moment I was devastated wondering how come my GTI became a TSI......lol

yes very true.. and also its not about 50k u pay more for GTI cause its the sportier car... the tech in the GTI is way more advanced.. u get XDS / DCC etc
i've tested GTI Golf TSI And Scirocco TSI..
i was suppose to get the Scirocco TSI but the power is there but it just doesnt fullfill my enjoyment as im power hungry tongue.gif
the power band for TSI more constant..
but for GTI u can feed the surge in power..

btw guys i DONT recommend FA wagen @ glenmarie... suppose to get my car on wednesday he drag until he say 2morow only can take.. im not sure wanna believe him or not... =.=
roadtax + registration need to take 2 days meh? wad the hell.. 30 mins can kao tim already ler...

really bad service as im buying 200k+ car and the service they giving me is crap...
always say call me back... they will NEVER call back 1..
*
surprisingly my experience is quite good. The SA even personally come to my office to collect the downpayment (check) on a Monday, then say will try to rush my car ready for collection by friday same week. I really got my car Friday smile.gif Then the Sales Consultant that handle the car delivery to me is also ok. good service and committed (when I go back to the showroom to ask for explanation on car functions, and also request to change some setting on my car). What I can say is that their schedule is really really tight (seems like business is very good).

Attaching some pics after I wax my car tongue.gif

gearbox isnt a common problem even though u hear alot about it.

the REAL problems are

- Burst DV (rm180-250)
- Worn out cam follower resulting in HPFP failure (preventive servicing RM100, if u dont service, RM2k+ if it fails)
- secondary fan failure(rm800-Rm1k)

while it sounds bad, all are common problems that can resolved by any workshop that are used to VWs. Difficulty in sourcing parts? pls...its damn easy to source VW parts, and it will only get easier with the more parts shops jumping in to serve the new polo/TSI owners
*
Sorry Noob here...may i know what is DV ?? wub.gif

edited: btw last night i try to push my GTI hard and monitor the oil temperature...it goes from about 100-103 celcius from normal driving...then going up towards 115 Celcius fast when i push my ride. Wonder what temperature is considered unhealthy and dangerous?

115 sounds abit high actually, it has been rock steady at 90 for me for my entire ownership, even after hard drving up ulu yam and genting

google dv volkswagen- gives about 3mil hits....have fun
*
i think you got me wrong. the 90 celcius should be the coolant temperature showed below the RPM. What i mean is the oil temperature showed in the MFD. The coolant will stay at 90 celcius steadily when the oil temperature goes up.

on the DV, searching "dv volkswagen" does not help as all the results only mention about problem of it, versus turbo, and upgrading it. I still can't get what is DV stands for. Well I managed to get the full term which is "forced DV" then googled "what is forced DV" finally gave me the answer instead of result like "digital video" and bunch of rubbish".

edited: b4 i saw ur edited post indeed i am quite pissed. feeling that u r mean and unfriendly as i already search with many terms like "what is DV in a car" and also search each ambiguation by wikipedia but there is no result at all. since u apologized and explained your reason, i will not keep this in mind

My water temp is stucked at 90.. but the oil temp does go above 100 sometimes. Wonder if that is normal, considering u ppl saying it should be just 90.

I think he might have meant the "diverter valve"?
*
hi futo,

yes diverter valve is the answer i am looking for smile.gif I had no idea what this DV stands for previously.

From wikipedia, it seems like blow off valve is similar function except that it releases the air to atmosphere but DV recirculates it back into the intake.

Now I understand why my GTI dont have the pssh pssh blowoff sound like most other turbo car on the road. I find the blow off sounds a lot cooler tho.

guys what ur FC on GTI?
my full tank i think max can go only 450km @_@
on ron97

and btw do u guys have alot of brake dust on ur rims?
omg my rims is so hard to clean..
2 days driving my car its full with brake dust and damn hard to clean...
*
my 1st full tank got me about 480km (better FC due to return trip from KL to Gopeng)
2nd tank only got me about 380km (city drive + very heavy footed tongue.gif)

So far only used Caltex ron95.

About brake dust on rims, I have no idea as I never washed my car myself yet. Only send to car wash center.

just to share something here....since I got my car last month, I've been using Caltex Ron95. Everything seems smooth and good power. Today I tried Shell Ron95 because my fuel can't last until I can find a Caltex petrol station. I feel the engine is not as smooth when gear shift, then when I press hard on the pedal, I can't feel the pull that I gets before this on 2nd gear with Caltex.....hmm

Would like to have more input and data from other GTI users to conform this....if possible i would stay with Caltex for now.

seems like conformed that Shell Ron95 sucks then? damn I even pumped a full tank of it this morning! now i worry my engine will get damaged from this shitty petrol....lol...
