Hey Guys, just joined this forum. Currently driving a black Golf TSI mk6. Got the car 1 month ago. Anyway, just to share my experience with FA Wagen Johor. I bought my car in kl but since I'm stationed in Johor for the time being, decided to bring my car for the 1st service here in johor. First impression, not good. They were sharing the same place with volvo. I thought "Geez, this is going to take a long tim". And I was right. Came in at 10 in the morning and quoted my car will be ready only after 15:00. Since I'm off that day and the car had 300 km over due, what the heck. The service advisor is not friendly enough. I mean, c'mon, the least he could do was talk to me politely. Anyway, after 15.30, the car was still not ready. By this time I was already smoking 3 cigs in a row to control my anger. Got my car back at 16.00 and they've washed it. I checked under the hood and everything seemed to be ok except the coolant level in the expansion tank was too high. Had to siphon it out. And I was charged RM554 without alignment and balancing. I will take the pain of driving back to kl and will never bring my car again to them. Anyway, care to share your experience on servicing your car?
PS: I was quoted RM1700 for the next service at 30k km.

QUOTE(Royrogers @ Mar 25 2011, 08:46 AM) No way 30k service should be RM1.7K! I have the schedule service list from FA Wagen. 30k service is listed as RM861. Cut throat btol la. So how much did you paid for your fist service?

QUOTE(Royrogers @ Mar 25 2011, 11:36 AM) Yes, if you take new 2011 golf, most dealers give 2 free service. Here's the estimated price for the service cost schedule given by FA Wagen. 15k - rm500+, 30k - rm800+, 45k - 900+, and the killer service is at 60k, about rm2.4k. But this is for GTI. For TSI I believe its cheaper. So, if you are quoted rm1.7k for 30k service for your TSI, you are getting ripped off! What baffles me is the price. I mean if you go to the Golf mk6 forum, they're only paying 83 bucks for the first service. That's like 250 ringgit here. With the mileage that I'm doing now, I'll have to service my car possibly end of april. IT means RM1300++ to maintain the car in one month. Sucks....

QUOTE(Kyoshiro @ Mar 25 2011, 02:39 PM) Yea, what I meant was the normal fc of an average driver would drive. My current car's fc kinda sucks too even I drive properly like cruising 120km/h on highway all the way to SG from KL. When I send my car for service, they told that they had to re-calibrate my throttle body. I have read this a few days ago from Gmk6 forum. Turned my case is the same as well. At 70%, fuelling was 100&! It should be close to 90% cos that's where the WOT position is. Anyway, my FC is going up. Nice...

QUOTE(lifeless_creature @ Mar 27 2011, 11:07 AM) Hi golf TSI drivers, I have a question, about the rims/tyres. I noticed there is a small difference, between the ones on the road and the ones printed on the brochure, attaching the pics..anyone noticed this as well? Thanks.. The one i the brochure is the 18" Michigan. I'm currently looking for a set of Karthoum 18". Will look good on black car. Anyhow, for the rattling, I have a done quick kaizen style fix. Get a good contact cleaner, spray it on the door striker. Then put a good electrical tape around it. I did on all 4 doors and the rattling sound all gone. When I send my car for service the SA was quite shocked to see it. I told him not to remove it. Hahaha..

No you got it wrong man. You only void the warranty for the original tyre and rim plus suspension and track. It's illegal to void the whole car warranty for a simple wheel and tyre change. But for all intent and purpose, Honda and Toyota seem to voiding warrantied because of this.
Added on March 27, 2011, 1:31 pmGuys, just want to share my experience today with my stock TSI. I've been in the UK for the past 2 days and missed my car like. Got back this morning and jump straight into the car to fetch my sweetheart (u know what i mean.......). Turned off ESP completely and drove in manual mode 100%. There's a straight road from my house leading up to the plus highway. So at the traffic light, there was a Gen2 with an ampai-kain-look spoiler and big exhaust. Light turned green, punch it wide. 1st gear, tire screeched, 2nd gear still screeching and up to the fourth gear. Left him there by 3 cars length. Hahahaa. I decree it was a good kill.

QUOTE(wira1979 @ Mar 28 2011, 10:31 AM) Just got my car so can't really report on the FC. Will let you know once I hit 1,000km. Currently, having too much fun to care about FC really hehehe. Anyways, was recommended that I take it slow (nothing above 3/4k RPM's unless I really have to) during my first 1,000km on the car and am determined to stick to that routine in order to run-in the engine properly. Have got some mods in mind and will make sure that I post here to share with my fellow VW brothers. Mod quest ... here I come! Not abusing the car during break-in period is what makes the engine consume more oil and underperform. The correct method of breaking in an engine is knowing the break-in period. You only have one chance to do correct break-in. TSI EA111 and EA888's maximum break-in point is the first 15,000 km. If you missed this, you'd have to rebuilt the engine and start all over again. How to do correct break-in? Punch it wide! Find a good stretch and just accelerate like hell then cruise and accelerate again. On highway driving, speed variation is a must. Go from 120km/h to 180km/h and back from time to time. Most ppl do not understand break-in. Breaking in and engine means allowing the piston ring to "eat" the bore correctly to form a near-perfect seal. This can only be achieved at high engine speed. You'd want the piston ring to rotate about it's axis during thrust and bore action. Engine which has been broken-in badly will have the ring flatter at high engine speed instead of spinning. First day I got my car, did a wheel spin in front of the stealership. Now that I'm passed 15,000km, no oil consumption problem as in my oil level remains the same. No carbon build up as well. I used a borescope to check my bore prior to change my spark plug. You'd also might want to do break pad bed-in procedure to ensure smooth wear on the pads.

QUOTE(tifosi2401 @ Mar 29 2011, 03:26 PM) Rm 3.5k. I know some people got it cheaper but I was in a rush and didn't bother to haggle although I should have. Does the audio information shown on the MFD?

QUOTE(tifosi2401 @ Mar 29 2011, 04:27 PM) MFD? Nope only the track no shown instead of track title. The audio info only show on the LCD screen. Not much of a concern to me though. I just shuffle my iPhone playlist and I know what songs are in my iPhone playlist anyway. However it'd be nicer if can show on MFD though. Can add one more bragging rights to my friends. One of them got poisoned dy cos he booked the roc recently. Hehehe.. Your fren got every right to be poisoned. Lu dh racun gua beb. Decision....decision.....decision....... care to share the shop's name and location?

You are correct. I was debating between the Polo and the Golf too. Used to drive Satria Neo which I really loved. But since I'm getting married, Golf was a more logical decision. Maybe I would buy the Polo for the sweetheart.

So I have ruled out the RCD/RNS option since I don't really need it. I'm leaning more towards chipping my car with REVO or APR stage 1. Anyone knows a good place for this around KL?

QUOTE(climacool @ Mar 31 2011, 10:03 AM) Quick question: Just wondering The GOLF TSI 1.4, the service reminder "15,000 km" keep appear on the dashboard's screen...is that normal ? and this car do not have digital metre like Golf GTI ? I don't quite get your question there. What digital meter? The service reminder only appears when you're reaching 5000km to service. At least in mine it does that.

184hp 250 nm across the same rev range as the TSI Golf. But the one I drove in the UK had no steering wheel button, no AC, cloth seat and no reverse sensor. El cheapo regarding the interior quality. The engine is identical in the TSI Golf. It's just tuned for a more HP. If I go APR Stage 1, I could get 197HP and 330 Nm of torque.

i ordered it without the S3 mounts and bush. Figured that the car is kinda "new". So don't really need the new bushings. I'm looking for a bit of lowered ride and stability. Was planning to go with the Sports Line but it is just too lowered.

RM1280 including alignment and balancing. It is from era maju in johor jaya. kinda pricey but it offset the cost of traveling back to KL.
