my GTI now almost 1 week until now no problems..YET

Corrected. IMHO..VW cars do have some serious qualtiy issues. Or could it be us that we have the perception that its German so QC must be super duper.

Anyone got good solutions regarding door rattle? We can temporary fix by using wax or put tape on door frame. Any other solution to fix this?
*
My Cergaz bozo still owes the solution for the rattling sound to the cost of RM200++ and not covered under warranty.

I thinking of just fcuk it and pay and settle it. Also my rear fog light kaputed aledi yesterday warning light up and MFD said "check rear foglight". This from a 2 month old car le... mad.gif

he did because I remembered. VGM replace the batter rite?

I said before..look I didnt expect trouble free car from VW but the level of service and the excuses given by SC is far from satisfactory.

You have to bark at them then they will do something. Perhaps a letter to VGM will make them sit up and notice that the level of service by the SC is heading to Naza's level.

Could someone just link this page to VGM people and let them see how many people is dissapointed with the after sales service?

I read whole of this thread I see a lof u VW owners facing some 'minor?' quality issues.

Pretty dissapointed as I am/WAS planning to get Polo as my second car.

I am NOT saying i was expecting a zero defect car, but too many defects.
*
I guess its just a metter of perception. VW is cheapest "german" maker..well if you discount Opel. So QC cannot compare to luxury marquees like BMW, Merc or Audi. Even these makers have small issues. F10, E90-92 all had thier fair share of issues.

Personally, most of the issues are not like major life threatening types. But what irrates us ..is the level of service provided by certain SC. Some SC just dont know how to diagnose the problem.

If I can turn back time..will I buy the Golf. Heck yes..because...the drive is just intoxicating. Just pity that my SC is incompetent. You must have driven the Polo, so..you will know how much fun it is to drive. Get a good SC will save you a lot of hassle when you claim on your warranty.

I am suppose to test drive the Polo tomorrow.

Was actually planning to get Honda Jazz, but I found out the Polo is priced on par with Jazz. So I decided to test drive the Polo before I actually book the Jazz.

Who is the official distributor of VW actually? Should highlight this issue to them.
*
Volks Group Malaysia (VGM). Nothing they can do as VW car are flying off the shelves. Heard that this batch GTi all booked and gone liao. So VGM facing headache as more cars on the raod that their SC can handle.

Once you driven Polo...hard to look back at Jazz again. You will be poisoned by the torque and DSG..

Have fun...just make sure you know what to "expect" when you buy the VW.

Went to VGM at 12.30pm and spoke a lady who handle "Personal Assistant to MD", unfortunately, the staff who can handle customer data and record were went for lunch and not able to access to my record as she dont have permission to do so. As a big company like VGM, the management should seperate the lunch time into 2 session (12-1pm) and (1-2pm)..

Anyway, she already wrote down all my issues and will call me back by today. I'm still waiting her call...
*
Let me guess...err...still no resolution from VGM? Sad...Auto

Whats the road tax like on a GTI?

I'm hoping they get the VW Golf R here asap
*
Same like any 2.0 car. ABout 300++/ TSI is 70 bucks. So about 200++ diff.

Other than that..maintainence GTI more exp as it uses wet clutch DSG. TSI dry clutch. Tyre diff in size, so expect to pay more for bigger tyres. Cant think of anything else..

Cheers

Insurance is around 6k
*
Roughly there if you dont have NCD for GTi. If you do...it varies based on your NCD entitlement. Easy to check online...just go any insurance portal and they have calculator. You just need the engine size which in this case 2.0 for GTi. Value of Sum insured is 208k. Key in and viola....you get your figure.

Same as TSi. Engine Size is 1.4 and Sum insured is 156k.
