IMO, it's not going to be iPad 2. Only the US of A will launch it on the 11th. No one will get it earlier than that.

Things to note:

- iPad (first-gen) is carrier-locked in certain (unfortunate) countries, and the US of A is excluded from this.
- With the release of iPad 2, it's confirmed that it shall not be locked to any carrier at all.
- If you plan to purchase an iPad from the States, please get the AT&T one. Verizon's CDMA networking is useless in Malaysia, as all major Malaysian telcos use GSM.

- Only the iPad 3G has a-GPS (assisted GPS), which means the GPS uses some data from the network to assist in locating you.
- And as for Google Maps, you need some form of data connection (Wi-Fi / 3G) to be able to download the map and pinpointing your current location.

+1 for Mackiddo.
You guys don't get how it works, do you?
Apple places the highest priority to the US first(first wave), then it shall distribute to countries which has Apple Retail (weird exception of China) (second wave), and some parts of Europe.
Since Singapore happens to be the Apple Regional Centre in SEA, they always get stuff before we do(third wave).
And then only we will get it(final wave).

And since the stock demand is so high, i still think that the Malaysian launch will be somewhere in June - July.
Please consider that there are nearly 200 million probable iOS users all around the world. As for the iPad alone, last year's iPad launch garnered over 300,000 iPads sold in the first day alone.
Foxconn or whoever manufactures the iPads will be incapacitated if Steve says "You've gotta make 200 million iPads in 3 months."

Apparently this "Mobile Hornet" has been around for 4 years, but has almost no presence in the local scene whatsoever.
On that note, i think i should start a blog as well. Why not?

@kc26,
I believe my earlier post about the waves thingy did not get through to your head.
I did mention that the demand for iPad 2 is too overwhelming for Apple's supply levels. As a matter of fact, i will not be surprised at all if the second launch wave (25 March) will be pulled back. If you really want the shipping time to improve, tell those 2 million people to stop buying iPads. Geez.

1. Go to MAS counter at KLIA. Buy a flight ticket to the US of A, any state of your choice but preferably those with apple stores.
2. Queue up just like everyone else.
3. Pay by cash or card, take your pad and come back.

If the above step is not clear enuf, then i feel very sorry for you.

@bernard90,
FYI, please get the AT&T iPad. Verizon's CDMA iPads are useless in Malaysia.
Any carrier can be used with the iPad, so it's just a matter of making the right choice.
