Finally~

I managed to gold the S. Vettel X1_X2010 Challenge on Suzuka with a DS3!!
And just so happens they released the new seasonals.

Today is a great day~

Driving Options:

Controller Steering Sensitivity - 7 (this is key)

1st lap - 1:05.720
2nd lap - 1:04.243
Total time - 2:09.963
My times are not that impressive (barely made gold). As you can see in the video, I also made some mistakes.
In fact my Nurburgring and Monza also both barely made it. +__+
I keep having the urge to redo because I know I can do better.
My best individual 1st and 2nd laps so far for Suzuka are 1:05.3xx and 1:04.1xx respectively.

I'm not really an expert, but here's what I've learned that may help:
- Use auto transmission (AT). I'm actually a MT player, but I'm just not good enough to use MT for these challenges.
Salute to anyone who golds with MT + DS3.
- After the 1st lap, if you feel you're within range of getting gold - turn off the ghost car (press Up on the D-pad) so that you don't get distracted when you're near him.
- In fact you may want to turn off all Race Info Display altogether (pause during race and goto Quick Options).
I didn't turn off because I feel more comfortable with the info and knowing how far ahead the ghost car is.
- At 0:30 (hardest corner in Suzuka), instead of braking and turning - try braking first before turning so you turn with more control.
- Coming out of the hairpin (at 0:36), it's faster if your car is in 1st gear rather than 2nd.
- If you find it hard to turn during the S-curves (or any corners), try letting go of the throttle slightly. Then step back on it so you don't lose too much speed.
- Try experimenting with different ABS settings. When I went from ABS 1 to ABS 10 in Nurburg, I found new ways of turning/braking, it's like I had an epiphany.
I then went back to ABS 1 and kept on improving my times from there.
- To gold, you can't just maintain the same distance with the ghost car. You have to catch up to him until almost like the starting position.
- Don't worry about being perfect. Doesn't matter if ur wheels get on the curb. As long as you be fast, maintain speed. LOL I know this probably sounds like bullsh**.
- You can try to master Suzuka first, then Nurburg and Monza will be a piece of cake.
Not sure if that is the easier or harder way. But what I did was Monza->Nurburg->Suzuka.

The times to achieve at the checkpoints on the 1st lap are:
1st checkpoint - below 0:29.000
2nd checkpoint - below 0:53.000
End of 1st lap - below 1:06.000
Any faster than this and you are still on your way to getting gold.

He beat Suzuka prior to patch 1.06, which means there were no Controller Steering Sensitivity options then. Totally salute him.
- His best run beats Suzuka gold by >2secs. And he beat Nurburg, Monza with >4or5secs (but those are done with wheel).
- He also has tutorials to help you I think.

If you mean A-Spec, actually I haven't yet.
Only did those races in B-Spec.

To get the Gold Standard trophy, you only need to gold all the races in either A-Spec or B-Spec, no need both.
I also didn't realize this until I got the trophy.
So I guess that'll help alot of you guys to get platinum as well.

You're right it's freaking tiring.
I find the Suzuka 1000km probably the most exhausting, because in this race it actually matters that you drive all 172 laps.
Not like the timed-endurance races where you can speed ahead then park your car aside and let the clock run.

I used the X2010. Drizzled from the start (lucky not much difference), then stopped at which lap I forgot.
Grey skies the whole race after that.
Finished the race in 3:59, woulda been faster if I hadn't forgot to refuel for about 5 times lol.
But even that, I find it really tiring...

3) Don't think there's a way. Unless you use an imba car like the X1 of course, then you won't even need to bother at all.
That's what B-Spec wants you to do, to give commands as a team director.

4) Right now I believe the seasonal events are the fastest way. Can get $504,000 in under 4minutes. If only this was in real life.
But you don't have a psn account yet, so I think you won't be able to enter seasonals?

Closest I got was #13. But of course am now pushed to way behind.

Finally, I was able to get a time under the 1min mark using my DS3.
But looking at my replay, there were so many mistakes, so many room for improvement.
Guess I need to try harder.

Well the regionals are finally closed now.
Congrats to trunksku and all the best in the semis.

As for me, only managed to get #30 (with my DS3). Sad not to have a wheel to race with.
Am happy though to at least set a 59.xxx time. And probably the fastest DS3 user in MY?
But of course not compared with other regions, alot more aliens there.

I really wanted a wheel long ago, but due to many circumstances cannot le.
And if I buy more stuff for gaming, things are going to get ugly lol.

SLS challenge is hard yea, but lucky I managed to gold it with my DS3.
Still some ppl are >3 secs faster than gold, even DS3 users.
I need to practise more.

Actually those 1'15" times aren't world best.
Alot of other regions aren't included/shown in our GT5.

World's best times I think are around the 1:13.xxx mark.

That said, all of them were using shortcuts as well.
The shortcut is at the Chicago corner (eg: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AszLiRTWdX8 see @ 0:23 and 1:38 marks).

But even without shortcut, I believe their fastest times would be around 1:14.xxx. The shortcut would only give about 0.5xx advantage at best.
PD realizes this and will reset the event+leaderboards in a couple of days.
IINM, they will make David Coulthard redo the laps also, and he's pissed about it. ROFL

From what I've read,
after you save an endurance race from the pit, you can't do anything else with the game other than continue racing.
Is that true?
