got it this evening. heard single player campaign quite short. intro and beginning looks good - watching not playing yet smile.gif

Added on March 16, 2011, 7:50 pmSoo .. up to only chapter 3 yesterday evening. Compelling story but cannot make up for some annoyances.
- Voiceless guy that just goes along with everything.
- Very linear at that?
- Your companions are scripted, like you have to wait before they get to a point that triggers a sequence or even something simple like going through a hole in the fence.

Besides the story nothing really to draw people in - except maybe MP with the levelling/incentive system and 32 players on map. Tried to join MP yesterday evening but no one was around, and it crashed my console. Not really worth the money imo.

Some additional points in half a chapter
- getting stuck on things when trying to head for cover
- companions that can just stroll through the battlefield, not clearing enemies as they go along .. your companions are useless, they shoot but don't really kill anything much
- said companions kicking you out of cover 'by accident'
- environment not interactable i.e. you cannot take cover in a house, jump through a window for cover or head for better vantage point. in most cases you are ambushed in a big field to hide behind barrels or crumbled brick fences

Seriously wish I could get a refund on this game. Whatever the case, great marketing effort by the company. Definitely fooled us.

ok i wrote some scathing comments about this game ..

but the multiplayer is not too bad. tried one match. it does take awhile to get from the lobby into a game but once you're in it's quite decent. If you're into FPS MP then you'll like it .. nothing groundbreaking tho.

do note that if you buy the game used, you will have to pay for a code to use MP - or be stuck at level 5.

Yeah looks kinda low budget .. not innovative for 2011, sometimes looks & feels like an old PS2 game. I just finished SP, took maybe 4 game hours. It is true on the length of the game. Maybe on harder difficulty you can stretch it to 6-8 hours but really what's the point. The game is intensely frustrating in SP, you die or fail missions for the stupidest reasons - usually your companions not clearing the map out before insisting you follow ("walmart" burning section), or if you're not waiting in the right spot (say 2cm ahead of Connor behind a shed) you will get spotted. In Chapter 7 discovered that you cannot shoot between railings and enemies have complete cover. Also if you use a sniper rifle you don't even need to bother to shoot the head, shoot anywhere on the body .. probably even an arm. Dumb stuff like that. Buy it for MP if you so wish .. don't even need to try the SP.

Rating
SP - 0/10
MP - 7/10
