Only told me not to have sex when i'm having any sort of sore.

At this point onwards, what else i could do about it ?
Outbreak is like how ?
I got a gf & i intended to marry her. I told her about this herpes infection as well. But i didn't ask her to go test for it.

Herpes is quite common and quite a number of people have it. Have you had any outbreaks yet so far? Some people are just carriers with no visible symptoms.

What you can do is to keep your immune system healthy. It usually comes out when your body is stressed and weak, changes in lifestyle, environment, diet may trigger it too. Different people different. But once its in you, you live with it forever. There are creams and supplements to keep the virus under control. For oral herpes, you can just go to any pharmacy to get cold sore cream.

Google how herpes outbreak is like and you'll find your answer. Basically it's a whole lot of blisters which will burst and take a long time to heal. With proper prevention and awareness, you can reduce the outbreak/healing time. Also read on what you should be aware off when you have an outbreak so you do not pass it to others, especially your kids in the future, i.e. no sharing of utensils, towels, toothpaste, kisses on the cheeks, etc.

I don't think so. I do not have any abnormal rashes or any visible blister around my mouth or lower body, except for the one i recently bite my lips. Hopefully i know how to differentiate an outbreak or just a normal blisters.
Without any doctor advise I'm quite reluctant to take any sort of medicine.

I taken this test on about after 4 weeks of last sex activities, is there any possible that i got a false positive? As i read there is this kind of possibilities.

I will try to do another test on September, is there any specialist in KL which I can do another herpes & HIV test?

The one that you bite on your lips is most likely canker sores. It's different from cold sores.

Canker sores are not contagious and very different from cold sores. Cold sores are usually on the outside of your lips. It appears as small blisters then combine to become a huge one then burst.

There is always that risk when doing the test, if you are worried, go just for another test in the future. You might have gotten it way before your recent sex activity also, you won't know. Cold sores are commonly passed down by parents when the kids are young.

Hi Munkeyflo.

Thanks for the explanation.
My HSV-1 test is 1.49, HSV-2 test is 1.20.

If i going to do another test, do pathlab/BP is enough to go through?
Is there a need to go to a gynae specialist for the test?

Herpes Simplex 1 & 2 Blood Test:
Possible Detection – 2-4 Weeks
Most Likely Detection – 6-12 Weeks
Highest Accuracy – 12-16 Weeks

I know i'm getting over worries about this, eventhough the doctor say nothing to worries about.
But this is my future that i'm facing through.

Honestly, I've no idea about the STD test. It's best to check with your doctor about that.

Gynae specialist? You're a girl?

Many people live with herpes. It's a life changing event for sure, but you will be fine. smile.gif

All labs are the same. Just repeat the rest 1- 2 months down the road to confirm.

Actually you go to specialists/doctors/clinics, they will also send it to the labs to do the tests and the lab will send them the results and they will tell you the results.

If you ask me, it's all the same.

Ic.
should i repeat the test by next month ? Or i shall wait for 3 months, mean November for accuracy?

in any experiment done in the research, we always go for 3x to confirm if there's any discrepancy.

so, if you are bothered by it, you can always go next month (end of september) followed by nov.

btw, what did they measured exactly?that test results of yours?

The test is as below:

HSV-1 igg test is 1.49

Right. What did your doctor say? If you have consulted a doctor regarding this, antiviral medication should be prescribe to you to treat it to avoid frequent recurrence. There's nothing much you can do except  for practicing safe sex with your partner. No vaccines are available for human use at the moment.

Hi, that''s the issue, the doctor at the Bx Lab doesn't advise me anything.
He just goes like, owh this is a very common thing, you got nothing to worries about.

There is no medication had been prescribe to me.
Is there any antiviral medication I can buy from pharmacy ?

Actually, why do you want to go for another testing? to double confirm your 1st positive results?

It is common and not life threatening. But if one can control it, then why not? but then again, it's up to the individual since medication is an alternative.

You can get antiviral medication from the pharmacy. talk to the pharmacist. They may be able to recommend one.

Ok, I will try to get the antiviral medication first.

I want to take another testing is just like buying a hope that this one is a false positive.
secondly, since HIV doesn't able to test so soon, so i can do it together with the HSV test again.

I am trying to keep myself calm now.
