oral sex wont get this problem rite ?  unsure.gif

There was an amusing observation when data on HHV-1 & 2 (Human Herpes Virus) [cold sores, genital herpes] were displayed, it showed a normalisation in ratios between the strain types in the sites. That is, HHV-1 used to be primarily causing cold sores (near mouths), and HHV-2 near genitalia. Nowadays, a mix or a switch is happening with the strains one way finding there & then. brows.gif

In fact, oral sex also can contract STD, just the chance is lower, herpes is for lifetime...

And when you're old, shingles! ... And a bill for aciclovir.

is prostitute transmit STD?

weird question. Prostitute may transmit STD. The risk is moderate that prostitutes transmit STD as the percentage of pros contracted is not that high that we all assumed. Safe sex virtually eliminates all the risk.

maybe this true story can help spread the awareness.

my cousin brother was tested hiv positive. i witness the symptoms. trust me, it's kinda scarry.

imagine, a person had sex with a hiv carrier. he/she cant get tested within 3 months as the test will show a sign of negative. unless the person get tested after 3 months or else, he/she wont be able to know as there wont be any symptoms in the next few years. and dont tell me u wont have any sex within these few years.

imagine if he/she does have unprotected sex, the virus can be transferred. 1 week 1 new partner, and that partner with another new partner. 1 becomes 2, 2 becomes 4, 4 becomes 8 and the number goes on.

now back to my cousin. he had his 1st symptoms, itchy and skin problem at his private part. that is not so obvious as we cant see it right? and he starts to have sore throat. a long uncure sore throat that lasts for a year. untill fungus is visible in his whole mouth, tongue and lips. he lost tremendous of weight as he cant eat nor drink. he even feel pain when swallowing his own saliva. he looks exactly like those african kids u saw in michael jackson's mtv. skeleton figure with bloated tummy. non of the family members suspect anything till i forced him to see a doc one day. and from there, the test was done... etc. hiv and tibi are best friends. 95% of ppl had hiv will have tibi as well.

he is still alive today. regret with what he has done. he has hurt himself, his family and everyone that cares about him.

well, my story ends here. i'm not here to scare anyone of u or to ask u not to have sex or what. u can have sex as it is a gift from god. but do it wisely. i hope my sharing can be a lesson to everyone. god bless.

I am sorry. Hope this can be taken as an example of the importance of sex safe.

Make love to only your love one. Then everything will be at ease and no worries. It's also healthy to make love to the one person in your life.

if we carry out the elisa hiv test within 1 or 2 month or after 6 months, is it still accurate?

After first month, ELISA can give a true positive HIV test, after six months, na-da. Regardless of first (probable) false positive test results (after six-months cases [quite uncommon]), a second test using a different non-antibody test is used, PCR-type tests.

The doctor is supposed to send the blood test, it's his judgement to order what type of HIV screen test [ and most likely, he'll follow a set protocol/procedure ]. I doubt any patient can just up an order himself a Quantiferon assay just like that.

Of course, I have no idea how the average private clinic goes about it anyway. All I remember is about hunting for results of tests in hospital labs, nearly becoming like postmen for higher-ups. You'd think those pneumatic tubes were there for a reason.
