Implanon can be done outpatient. It is a minor procedure where u will get local anesthesia and insertion procedure takes around 1 minute at the inner aspect of the left upper arm, between the biceps and triceps. Then the Implanon is placed subcutaneously. Implanon need to be replaced every 3 years. Implanon is good to provide long term contraception.
