For those who have never had their pap smear before, it doesn't hurt that much, you'll feel the discomfort, but if you try to relax, it helps.

It's normal to have spotting (small amount of blood) after the smear, so nothing to worry about.

The public clinics provide this test - I know this because my mom's working in one and she's performing smear tests for people.
