QUOTE(cherroy @ Mar 1 2011, 12:11 AM) Err.... you don't judge or make investment decision based on above statement. Totally agree. You can have a lot of businesses or good business, but not making profit or enough profit also can. You make decision on investment based on profit that can generate for you. Not about it is popular or not. Look at its P&L and Balance Sheet, not from the front door of business. Added on March 1, 2011, 12:28 am QUOTE(protonw @ Mar 1 2011, 12:14 AM) But FF flow to US/Europe market from Asia market means we will be red red woh. QUOTE(Bonescythe @ Mar 1 2011, 02:10 PM) I think he wants to meet his sales deadline.. If we always think of shortcuts to achieve goals, we may end up with two empty hands. He must be a sales / marketing personal for the company. Urgent -> Because no sales coming in.. No sales -> Hehehehe, you know I know lar. So he want contact to show his boss.. Something like this? Just predicting / assuming only.. Just my view...to him, not you. |

QUOTE(baqueen @ Mar 1 2011, 02:36 PM) can any sifu here enlighten me on why different platform present a different PE value on the very same counter ah? I thought the PE has a standard formular to calculate? 1. PE could be calculated by the latest 4 qtr reports, or by previous FY's report. 2. some platforms may be calculated wrongly! As far as i know, PE is calculated by the software instead of retrieve directly from the Bursa stock data. please correct me if i was wrong. |

QUOTE(SKY 1809 @ Mar 1 2011, 08:13 PM) Anyone can share a full version of the following report :- I also want! Anyone got this, please share share. Thanks! KUALA LUMPUR: Hwang DBS Vickers Research (HDBSVR) said DRB-Hicom Holdings Bhd is on track for a record year. It said on Monday, Feb 28 that DRB-Hicom reported 3QFY11 net profit of RM110m (-17% qoq, +6% yoy), taking 9MFY11 net profit to RM400m (+88% yoy). “This is in line with our RM539m forecast for the full year. While 3QFY11 automotive revenue fell 24% qoq to RM800m, EBIT was 14% higher at RM59m with margins expanding to 6% from 4% a quarter ago,” it said. HDBSVR said this was likely due to better scale and overall lower costs for assembly and manufacturing. Meanwhile, the 9MFY11 automotive division EBIT surged six-fold to RM133m. And services division EBIT - largely driven by its bank and concession businesses – inched up 3% to RM282m (63% of group EBIT). DRB declared 2 sen gross interim DPS. “Next catalysts. These are: (i) conversion of LOI for Deftech worth a potential RM8bn with lucrative margins, and (ii) privatization of Alam Flora in other states in Malaysia, which had received approval from Parliament a few years ago,” it said. HDBSVR said it believed the conversion of LOI to LOA is forthcoming given the recent agreement between Deftech and FNSS Turkey to purchase 257 units of armoured carrier frames coupled with the intellectual property rights. The research house said this will also allow it to export to the Asia-Pacific region. We have not factored these into its SOP value or EPS. “In the medium term, the eventual divestment of 30% of Bank Muamalat (RM600m at 1.4x BV) and revival of property launches will boost FCF and may pave the way for a more formal dividend policy. “High conviction BUY, TP RM3.55. The stock still offers unbeatable value at 6.4x FY12F PE and 0.7x P/NTA. Our target price, based on 20% discount to SOP, offers 79% upside,” it said. btw, some info from OSK's daily report: DRB-Hicom Bhd’s wholly-owned unit Puspakon SB has signed a new 15-year concession agreement with the government to continue carrying out vehicle inspection. Under the latest concession, Puspakom will pay a “predetermined concession fee” at an undisclosed rate to the government beginning September 2009 to August 2024 and will be allowed to collect fees for each inspection, according to a filing by DRB-Hicom to Bursa Malaysia last Friday. “The concession allows Puspakom to continue motor vehicles inspection and testing activities which will further strengthen the services sector of DRB-Hicom,” the company said in the filing. |

Berjaya Corporation Bhd founder Tan Sri Vincent Tan has pledged to donate at least half of his wealth to charity.
The announcement was made by Tan during an impromptu speech at the launch of the Berjaya Founder’s Day event, where he spoke about his decision to join “The Giving Pledge” that was initiated by Bill Gates, his wife Melinda and Warren Buffett. His announcement was greeted by loud applause from guests at the event and shoppers at Berjaya Time Square yesterday. To kickstart his plans, Tan will donate RM20mil this year to various charities that will be announced soon. “I will also channel to the Better Malaysia Foundation to honour my country. Eventually, I would like to give away half of my wealth and I hope it will inspire more wealthy Malaysians to donate money for charity,” he said. According to a recent Bernama report, Tan is the nation’s 12th richest person with assets worth RM2.43bil. He is ranked 828th on the Forbes 2010 world billionaire list with a net worth of US$1.2bil (RM3.66bil). Tan also donated RM1.5mil to match the RM1.5mil fund that was raised from the Founder’s Day carnival for 28 selected non-governmental organisations and charitable organisations. The Founder’s Day event was initiated to honour the philanthropic efforts of Tan in conjunction with his birthday on Feb 23. http://thestar.com.my/news/story.asp?file=...0222&sec=nation |

QUOTE(David_Brent @ Mar 2 2011, 01:34 AM) There must be some tax write-off or loop-hole he's found that make this "charitable" giving advantageous to himself.... I don't believe a word of it.... A leopard cannot change it's spots.... I was guessing probably he used it to broaden his name exposure worldwide (by the "relationship" with Mr. Bill and Buffett), to assist his possible foreign businesses. Or even directly, Buffett may invest in Bjcorp. |
