The Arab League said on Thursday it would consider backing a no-fly zone over Libya to end its crackdown on anti-regime rebels, but ruled out supporting any direct foreign military intervention.

"The Arab countries cannot remain with their arms folded when the blood of the brotherly Libyan people is being shed," the League said in a resolution after a meeting of foreign ministers in Cairo.

"The ministers have decided to pursue talks on the best way to protect Libya's citizens and to assure their security, including the imposition of an aerial exclusion zone and coordination between the Arab League and the African Union on this subject," it said.

The Arab League last month barred Libya from its meetings until strongman Muammar Gaddafi responded to the demands of protesters, amid a crackdown by the regime that one rights group says has killed 6,000 people.

US employment is likely to shine from now on.

WB predicts it would drop to 7 years low just before the next GE.

Euro economies on stronger recoveries. Watch out for Inflation and rate hike.

Arab League peace plans are on the horizon, basically they have to save themselves.

Kinda another round of Hope season from now on.

The West, especially the US, are experts with this product called HYPE.

Be careful that we don't fall for it.  People forget how bad the American economy is.  These past couple of weeks is a good case in point.  Asian markets dropped like mad but generally the fundamentals are still there.  The western markets went up but generally, the fundamentals are still NOT there.

Continue with fundamentally sound and high value stocks (not many in our market unfortunately), ride the waves and we should be okay!

One thing I kinda believe what WB says, never mind the rest have to say.

EXCLUSIVE-UPDATE 2-Malaysia may open door wider to foreign banks-PM
Fri Mar 4, 2011 3:16am GMT

* Malaysia PM says open to ANZ doubling AMMB stake

* Such a deal would mean relaxing foreign ownership rules

By Mark Bendeich

MELBOURNE, March 4 (Reuters) - Malaysia said on Friday it was ready to ease bank ownership rules and spur more foreign investment, declaring it was open to Australia & New Zealand Banking Group to double its stake in Malaysian lender AMMB Holdings .

Prime Minister Najib Razak told Reuters he would consider allowing Australia's fourth-largest bank to raise its AMMB stake to 49 percent, well above the current 30 percent cap on foreign ownership of local banks, provided the central bank approved.

"On ANZ, our policy is really to cap the limit on foreign investment in banks to about 49 percent or so, so within the scope of the policy we can look at what kind of request ANZ bank will make to the central bank," Najib said in Melbourne, a day after discussing the issue with his Australian counterpart.

ANZ bank owns about 24 percent of AMMB Holdings, Malaysia's fourth-largest bank by market value, and there has been market talk that AMMB's other major shareholder, Azman Hashim, may look to sell his 16.7 percent indirect stake in the bank.

Instead they have one less problem to worry, they soon added in more things to fight for, power, status, pride, etc... and ofcourse, money.
Sorry being OT.
