Anyway sifus...i just got my self a good victor shoe costing 230 like tat and next i need to find myself a racquet
last time i bought a yang yang around 180 only....very light and very high flex i think....
then i got a rsl scream 068 which i feel is ok....and then later on as i play my elbow hurts a lot....i plan to rest 2-3 weeks...

then later on i need a racquet...rsl silver is stiff ? if its stiff and string around 26lbs is it hard to play?
wat about apacs tantrum 200?
*
rest 2-3 weeks with some light stretching always

silver is medium
gold is stiff

string tension is up to personal preference

QUOTE(hypermount @ Apr 7 2011, 10:25 AM)
OK guys I'm newbie here and in badminton and I have few questions to ask. I tried google search but it didn't return the desired results.

I didn't get enough information about the difference between oval/round and isometric racquets. Is there any pic to show the difference. is  round shaped type is due to having the T-joint to join the head and shaft.

I haven't play badminton in ages - and I got this cheap Powermax 9900 Nano racket which I think is a yonex clone. I learn a great deal about string tension, shaft flexibility etc before heading to a store for advice. I kept hitting on the frames and I feel it's too light especially when serve. Should I get heavier headed or even balance racket? But my form is improving match after match.
*
oval has smaller sweetspot, iso bigger but the reward of accurate sweetspot hitting is higher with oval

oval and t-joint is the very old type of racket..that time no such thing as internal t-joint yet..even if there is, not widely used in production thus not famous and expensive

u can still find oval shaped racket heads with internal t-joint

QUOTE(hypermount @ Apr 7 2011, 11:24 AM)
LOL yea it's that bad. But got it right after games. Not used to the rackets. And sometimes hit the shaft too.
*
if u're using forehand serve then it makes sense

last night snap my string becoz of mishit. . .  cannot recall when is my last string snap becoz of mishit, but should be very long time ago. . .  biggrin.gif

BTW last time someone here ask me regarding the AcePower string I am using, the modal name is AP66, 0.66mm one, not 0.63mm, hitting sound is quite nice also.
*
can say no news means good news..
still nid to get used to the smaller sweetspot

QUOTE(chiller @ Apr 8 2011, 01:27 AM)
it's a refresh version. Nice color & flashy though, suits women more. Grey (2500) is subtle & humble.
OSPlatinum Tour & Pro Tour are refresh also from OSPlatinum. Premier range remains.

ziggy no time for badminton. Making tons of money now, dun bother us at all.....

Personally I don't really prefer Zymax 67 cos the string feels much more softer even at higher tension compared to Zymax62 at a lower tension.

What say you ziggy since you used Zymax 67
*
cant say anything since i'm testing different strings with different tension range

waiting sifu chiller to reply this question hahaha

Oh,so these are good for beginners as well?Or is it better if I go to a specialised badminton shop and ask them for advice as well?
Are there differences in rackets for training purposes and casual play?
*
the Apacs W160 is training racket..it weighs 160g, almost double of a normal racket
the squash racket is also for training

the ES10 is a good start for normal play (medium stiff, even balance). it's 4u weight (80-85g) and able to string high tension
most important, it's cheap! since u're unsure which type of racket suits u, it wont feel wasted if u dun like it in the future..
