I am here to ask about battery life as well.
How about minimal usage ? Like maybe, a few call or sms'es, maybe browse abit. Can last 2 days + ?
Can tahan maybe a 2 days trip, only use for calling n sms ?
Any more example will helps, looking at Ace now.

And 1 more, can the no flash issue be fixed ? Sorry, noob in smartphones eh. Just wanna get 1 now.

QUOTE(Calex @ Feb 23 2011, 10:48 PM)
From what I can summarise, the differences are:

-Screen size and color display ability (3.5 inch 16million colors on Galaxy Ace compared to 3.2 inch 262k colors on Optimus One)

-Camera (5MP on GA compared to 3MP on O1)

-RAM (278MB on GA compared to 512MB on O1)

-Battery (1350mAH on GA compared to 1500mAH on O1)

-Wifi (WiFi b/g/n on GA compared to b/g only on O1)

-Processor (800Mhz Qualcomm MSM7227-1 Turbo on GA compared to 600Mhz Qualcomm MSM7227 on O1)

Hope this helps. smile.gif
*
Ace is better in most aspect.
RAM is most argued by most people, but we will have to wait a full review to see whether the 278mb is sufficient onot, i guess.
Evrything is good enough for me, except battery life doh.gif
Screen and processor loot power than op1, but smaller battert than op1 doh.gif
Samsung could have give us a 1500mAh battery and i guess the manufacturing cost will still be low enough to place a good price tag... too bad.

Disastrous video recording!  GSMArena got that right.  15fps?!  WTF was Samsung thinking?!  This is like, what, 2006?
*
True though. It used to be a reason that might stop me.
But i came across a thought that, when it comes to recording... phone is always weaker.
Yea i know, some phone provide real good recording, but those are in high-end price.
I saw video recorded by my sis samsung wave. Reviewed as good quality recording, but for me.... kinda weak also.
You just don't use phone to record important or quality demanded video , right ?
So quickly, i put that aside.
Use the right device for right purpose.
Just my opinion though.
However, better if it offers better recording lar~

Hmm my first day battery was below average.. second day it lasted 16hours with half the time usage on idling, wifi and surfing, and games.
*
I find this to be quite random. I read upon some user's Ace can tahan 1 days +, with gaming, wifi once a while.
While some bash it for can't even tahan half days.
I don't know, but is this a common thing when it come to battery life ?
If i buy this, i will close unnecessary stuff like wifi, 3g coverage when not in use.
I guess it helps with battery life ?

Haha my first day of using it was kinda bad, cause I'm new with the phone. Had alot of things running. But I learnt from trial and error, off the 3g and activate only 2g and the battery lasted longer.
*
For you, longest record still within 1 day right ?
Most user claims that. However for those who claims 1 days +, i hope i can join them if i buy ACE sweat.gif

lol those comments usually comes from user who does not know how to optimize the battery. if you once used an android before you pretty much would know how to optimize it. my phone battery can last one whole day despite playing and downloading with 3g on and never off.
*
Yeap, probably. Read some tips on optimizing the battery and will use them.
But so far i read is, close 3g, wifi, dump unnecessary widgets and background apps, when idle set low processor clock... any else ?

To extend battery life on Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830, turn off your Bluetooth when you’re not using it. As we know, Bluetooth is a wireless connection that can receive and transmit information, but to do this it consumes battery power. Your Samsung Galaxy Ace display is set to full brightness at first start up this can put a strain on your battery. However, you can reduce the screen brightness and the screen timeout.-Samsung phones questions

When you don’t use the web, download or video call on Samsung Galaxy Ace, turn off 3G to save battery life. Another feature that can affect your battery life is WiFi, make sure this is switched off when its not in use. I think these intructions will help you to extend battery life on your Samsung S5830.

nice tips. Helpful for newbie like me rclxms.gif

When there's a section for the Galaxy Ace over at xda, this phone is a total steal. biggrin.gif

Would love to try out how the Gorilla Glass feels like. Not a fan of the plasticy screen of the Optimus One. But beggar can't be choosers..
*
If no remember wrong, no gorila glass for ace oh.
