Would love to try out how the Gorilla Glass feels like. Not a fan of the plasticy screen of the Optimus One. But beggar can't be choosers..

When there's a section for the Galaxy Ace over at xda, this phone is a total steal.

QUOTE(cheehing @ Feb 25 2011, 04:22 PM) thanks...so now can the new ACE user provide the free ROM n RAM space when u 1st start of ur ACE??? It doesn't support flash, same case with the Optimus One.and does anyone tried to install Flash 10.1 into ACE??? Both phones are using the same chipset, if O1 can't support flash, neither can the Ace. Sad huh. |

QUOTE(cheehing @ Feb 25 2011, 04:59 PM) really cant support Flash 10.1...so sad...but do u try to install it? some device does not come with the apps but may able to install by user itself... I don't have this phone, so I can't really know. But judging from the many reviews out on the net, doesn't look like it supports flash. It is a sub 1k phone after all.. |

Though the O1 vs Ace depends on the potential user. So far, Ace doesn't seem to have much custom ROM's hanging around, while the O1 is pretty abundant with it.
But in the near future the Ace would probably have a bunch of custom ROMs. |

QUOTE(Dannyl @ Mar 3 2011, 07:26 PM) Noticed a speck of dust trapped near the top of the screen and another one near the bottom. Don't know if they were there when I bought the phone or while I was using it. Hard to see indoors. Future buyers, be careful! What is it with newer phones and dusts under the screen... Lol. Seems like all the newer models are facing this issue. |

Oh, guys, I'm curious about this.
Do you guys have the "axis inversion" issue with the multitouch? |

What about the axis-inversion issue?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5puAvPqXpuc&feature=related It's something like that. Would appreciate it if anyone can clarify if the Ace has this issue. |

QUOTE(tehoice @ Mar 9 2011, 11:08 PM) but just now there is one guy from samsung dealer told me that no matter what, after u root your phone, you cannot claim warranty, because there is some sort of things/or something installed into your registry, thats why the technician over there at the samsung warranty department could dignose your phone will reject for warranty claim. is that so? I doubt so. The Samsung dealer probably told you this to discourage you from rooting. It's understandable really. Most people who have no idea what they are doing would brick their device in the process of rooting. This in turn would mean a lot of people would go back to the dealer, giving them headaches and all. Best bet is to be extra careful when you're rooting, flashing and what not. |

QUOTE(tehoice @ Mar 9 2011, 11:30 PM) yeah thats right, but do u think it worth your risk for rooting it? i mean should anything happen? Rooting is pretty much easy and risk free, provided you follow the instructions. Though I have only rooted a LG Optimus One with z4root before.but anyway, will be extra cautious when i root mine, still studying it for the time being. but at the moment, i couldnt get my ACE !!! most places also no stock, if not they charge quite expensive also. just now that samsung fella also told me, the ori set by SME is only 999 for phone without 2GB memory card, is this for real? anywhere i asked today also come with at least 2gb memory card! one last thing is that, they claim that they are the biggest dealer in msia =.= lastly, samsung dealer in pyramid says they are the special dealer and hence SME is giving them a special treatment, phones bought there are with 18 months warranty, i dont know who is right or who is wrong here... someone enlighten me please? thanks The real risk is flashing something (kernel, ROM). |
