3 antennas are a requirement for a 802.11n 3x3 MIMO Dual Band setup. Below are example of a true 802.11n 3x3 MIMO Dual Band mini-pci-e card from Intel :

No, it comes in pairs at 2 different length :
White cable (AUX) Length : 75cm
Black cable (MAIN) Length : 98cm

So you either add 1 to your notebook to make it 3 antennas or replace both crappy factory default antennas in your notebook with the Tyco.

The Tyco is using U.FL connector which is 99.9% compatible with WiFi/Bluetooth card for netbook or notebook. Weak WiFi signal can be due to crappy antenna, WiFi card or missing antenna (some manufacturer install only 2 antennas on a 3x3 card).

The supplier stated the WiFiSky coverage is 4~6KM radius. In practice, these is highly subjective to your router/mode/client ability to supply the power to the antenna. In the worst case, replacing your generic antenna with a high gain antenna will make sure your setup bottleneck is not the antenna anymore. smile.gif

1102 = 2x2 MIMO (max 300mbps)
1103 = 3x3 MIMO (max 450mbps)

What is the model of the default MSI-GT780DX-215US wireless card in your laptop?

Bigfoot Networks only release specification on the current draw but not on the power draw :-

Power (3.3V Supply)
Power Save Mode - 65 mA (max)
Receive Mode - 450 mA (max)
Transmit Mode - 750 mA (max)

So if you know how to apply the formula, you can calculate it smile.gif :-

Well if your default wireless card is a Intel card, I am pretty sure that you do not need additional bracket for the Killer Wireless-N as all Intel wireless cards for 6 series chipset comes in mini PCI-e half-height form format so your laptop is either designed to use half-height card or already comes with the necessary bracket installed. smile.gif

The Killer 1103 need the 3rd antenna in order to obtain a 450mbps throughput. If you do not wish to install a 3rd antenna, you can opt for the 1102 instead which is still by far better than any cards Intel can offer. You are right on the losing bluetooth functionality, but a gaming laptop should not wired the bluetooth hotkey to the wireless card in the 1st place as this will burden the wireless card. For instance a Intel 1030 card will downgrade to 150mbps from 300mbps once the bluetooth is turn on as the card will need to 'release' 1 antenna for the bluetooth hence unable to operate in a 2x2 MIMO mode. Not to mention a busier wireless chipset will only introduce higher ping rate.
Lastly, a micro bluetooth USB dongle will only cost less than RM$20 on the market so it's up to you to decide whether you want high performance or functionality. smile.gif

The M14x only comes with 2 antennas so unless you are keen to install the 3rd on your own for the 1103 (450mbps), the 1102 (300mbps) is your only option.

No, I mean your M14x only comes with 2 antennas so it can't do a 3x3 MIMO even if you replace your default Intel card with a 3x3 MIMO capable card like the Killer Wireless-N 1103. If you do not wish to install a 3rd antenna, it is advisable to replace your existing Intel card with the 2x2 MIMO Killer Wireless-N 1102 instead. And of cause replacing your existing Intel Centrino card with either Killer Wireless-N 1102 or 1103 will make your laptop 'fly' tongue.gif Your Intel wireless card can be access by removing the battery & pop-out the base cover.

Hi,

I am interested at the intel 6300 card and the tyco antenna for two laptop.
However, on my wife's laptop (Acer Aspire 4315) it only come with one antenna and i read it that you can install or thread the antenna yourself - are you able to provide some instruction how to do it (i mean where to lay those cable ; i have no problem opening up the laptop since i had upgraded the cpu, memory and installed SSD). One more thing is that I am not too sure about if the intel 6300 can fit in. Because the faulty card that it has is an Artheros AR5007EG ( approx. 1inch x 2 inch )

My own laptop is an old toshiba satellite a80, i had a look it is using some kind of half height card with 2 antenna (it currently using intel pro set 2200bg). So can you advise me if the intel 6300 can fit in to both the laptop fine, also will there be any compatibility issue with intel 965GL chipset (Acer Aspire 4315) which i read somewhere that mention it might??

Thanks and sorry for bombarding you with so many question.
Finally it they are feasible for me, can you quote me two unit of the intel 6300 and two sets of the tyco wire including postage to Sabah.

Thanks and regards.

Added on June 16, 2012, 8:17 amHey TS,

Merchandise received unexpectedly fast (within 1 day).
Intel 6300, Installed and working fine. Signal bar are full and reception is way better.
Only concern i have is due to my lack of confidence to open up the top part of laptop. I just tuck in the antenna in the empty space i can found at the bottom side of it and one is coiled up and tuck in the hdd drive bay...hope it won't cause too much problem with heat from the HDD.

Last but not least that i have mentioned TS is a very efficient person and very thorough with his explanation.

We are terribly sorry that all our 1102 & 1103 are SOLD OUT currently. The 1202 is a low-end hybrid (WiFi + Bluetooth) card which will switch to non-MIMO 150mbps mode once it's bluetooth is turn on.

im aware of the 1202 being slightly inferior only to have bluetooth 4.0 as an extra,do you have any suggestion for a WiFi + Bluetooth 3x3 MIMO card for desktop use?

lastly you only mentioned it being inferior to the 1102 and 1103 without mentioning whether you sold them or not.

please give me an alternate suggestion for a WiFi + Bluetooth card for desktop use and the pricing of the 1202

Intel 6235 is the hybrid card equivalent to the Killer Wireless-N 1202 offering. However I personally won't consider hybrid card is slightly inferior to dedicated WLAN card due to the fact that not only hybrid card will have to release 1 antenna for the bluetooth usage once the bluetooth is enable, the chipset is doing a double job at the same time too. Of cause unless you consider integrated graphic is slightly inferior to dedicated graphic chip. smile.gif

You can only access the internet via 1 of the two cards in Windows operating system & not both at the same time that's for sure. Even in Linux operating system, this is not plug & play. You can bind the 2 WLAN cards but the configuration is not trivial.
Anyway we have no intention to bring in the 1202 cards. Sorry! notworthy.gif

no i do not intend to connect to 2 separate internets with 2 wireless cards if that is what you are assuming,i am trying to get an internal bluetooth and WiFi card either as a bundle or get a separate bluetooth controller and a dedicated wireless network card, but i do not see any manufacturers selling internal bluetooth cards that is why i asked about having 2 wireless cards.

let me try it this way, assuming i get the Bigfoot 1103 for wireless internet usage and another intel 6235 for bluetooth usage despite the intel having Wireless capability is this possible?

this may be more expensive but i need to know if doing so is possible?

Sorry for the misunderstanding. Personally I would recommend that you to use a USB bluetooth dongle instead as this is cheaper, universal & can be re-use on other system. For 3x3 MIMO mini PCI-e WLAN card on desktop, you can use the adapter below :-

Sorry for the misunderstanding. Personally I would recommend that you to use a USB bluetooth dongle instead as this is cheaper, universal & can be re-use on other system. For 3x3 MIMO mini PCI-e WLAN card on desktop, you can use the adapter below :-

Just wat to ask is the Tp Link Antenna able to improve signal coverage for Tp Link WDR4300 ? My Tp Link WDR4300 wireless router signal coverage is even worst than the D Link DIR-615

No our TP-Link 3dBi antenna will not improve your WDR4300 signal as your router already come with a 3dBi antenna. However it will improve your DIR-615 signal as DIR-615 default antenna is 2dBi only.

Re: Intel® Centrino® Advanced-N 6235

I intend to run this on a desktop for its bluetooth feature. I know I can get those USB dongles but I've already got two cheap China-made ones but they don't support A2DP.

Questions:

1. This requires an adapter to use in a PCI Express slot on my desktop? Do you sell this adapter?

2. Have you tried using 6235 on Win 7 to pair with bluetooth headset (the same ones you pair with your mobile phones)?

Thanks...

Yes, we do have a mini PCIe to PCIe adapter at RM$49 each :-

No, we never tried A2DP with 6235 on Win7 before. notworthy.gif

The version on the left where the antenna cable goes into the BLACK colour hole at the rear of the modem is not upgradable. The version on the right where the antenna cable goes to the GOLD colour block can upgrade the antenna. The gold colour block is actually the RP-SMA socket which is compatible with our 10dBi antenna. But all our WiFiSKY 10dBi are SOLD OUT. notworthy.gif However we do have COMFAST CF-ANT2410I 10dBi High Gain WiFi Antenna in stock currently. whistling.gif

Yes, upgrading the antenna is the most straight forward and cost effective solution to improve WiFi network coverage. Plus the detachable antenna can be move to other new modem/router easily.

Yes, Intel 6300 is in stock currently. As for 802.11ac mini PCI-e card, we are still waiting for the Intel card to drop below RM$200 before bring them in. Currently Intel 7260Ac (876Mbps version) is retailing at almost double of 6300 price. sweat.gif
