I was watching the Manchester United vs Crawley Town game early this morning.
And this question popped into my head, What if Harimau Muda was to face Crawley Town?

Crawley Town, a non league team, played pretty amazing football against United, and I'm quite amazed by their fitness levels actually.
Their crosses into the box wasn't that bad either. And players like Smith, Tubbs, and Torres played rather well I'd say.

Which team would emerge the better?
What say you guys?

I thought Crawley Town was good too. But then again, United wasn't at their best after all.
Although, the question here is, do you think Harimau Muda would stand a chance?

A close call, a draw perhaps? Crawley for the win? Harimau Muda for the win?

I'd say it would be a close call..

Would Harimau Muda stand a chance against an English non-league team, that only conceded 1 goal against United?

I somehow feel Harimau Muda would have a tactical advantage at the first half. But they'll lose out the fitness battle at the second.

Malaysia only lose 2-3 to United starting eleven back then whistling.gif

Man Utd only play to get through to 2nd round. If Crawley manage to score 1 last night they will score 2 etc.... It's not their best team

i actually think Harimau Muda players has the edge fitness wise against part timers crawley town.... but as usual they will lose out physically.....

but i think Harimau Muda will win....

and from that match, i also see Bebe would not make it into crawley town first team.... i also dont think he will make it as a dependable import in Malaysia either....

True, Crawley Town players have good physical strength.
As for the Bebe part, both he and Oberton didn't play well at all yesterday. I'd only give them a 2/10.

lol if u ask me. fitness wise hard to compare. Fitness all depends on altitude, if our players play at england, crawley town has the advantage, its their weather their altitude after all.

but when these white kids come to Malaysia, our tropical weather (n pitch condition haha) will give them hell.

i think crawley will win it,coz crawley tends to cross the ball inside the penalty area, unless kharul fahmi have a superb nite again,i cant imagine that our defender can contest any header(physical-wise).

The only advantage I see in Crawley Town is that although it's a "non-league" team, they play hard-running, fast-paced football week in, week out with players of the right physique for their kind of football. Our slower-pace football and smaller players may struggle against that.

Our players might have enough strength (they are full-time pros after all) but maybe the height department would be a problem, as mentioned here.

It might turn out to be an Australia vs. Japan though.

malaysian used to have a game with superstars teams like MU, chelsea, arsenal etc

now comparing against a non league team?
WOW
this just shows how low we all can be.

harimau muda or not, still malaysia vs MU also under 23 squad (only 3 overage players)

Would you like me to compare them with the elites like Man United and Barcelona then?
Lets face it, they're good, and they're getting better, and i do support our national team and they have very high potential to improve.
That non league team, played very well against United btw, that shows us not to underestimate non-league English teams. Besides, have you seen many non-league teams play?
Just as minority said, this could turn out to be an amazing match.
Thank you for your opinion anyway, no offence smile.gif

lee chan yew ( ex malaysian international, not a regular in national squad,)
can pass trial for bournemouth fc(that time cocacola div2= div4 of english tier) only to sangkut because of strict work permit in UK. (the team dont continue the pursue on him)

and crawley town is...... a non league team

cmon

mppj fc manage to give a good fight for norwich (of course in preseason mode only) by losing out only 2-3.
dont put our team so low lah.

I'm not putting the Malaysian team low my friend, you're putting non-league English teams low smile.gif
You should be confident instead, Malaysia Boleh, we can match English teams.

About that mppj vs norwich game, i'm sorry, i would have overlooked this.

But to be honest, i would love to see more Malaysian players play abroad, to gain more exposure. I'm glad that Safee Sali made that first step! smile.gif

the outcome also depend the team fight for what glory. if purely a friendly then the result is meaningless ...

may be harimau fighting for each ball while crawley town players just want to have some funs ...

it must be said though that harimau muda generally got whipped by slovakian second league sides who can be argued only playing uncompetetively.

Well, at least now i'm learning stuff about the team, getting to know the team better. smile.gif
Anyway, me not knowing ANY development of the team, wouldn't be entirely true. I watch Harimau Muda matches, i watched them play during the AFC Suzuki Cup as well.
I also know that Safee Sali is no longer playing for a local team, but for Bandung now.
I do admit that my knowledge about the team is still a lil shallow, but i'm trying to keep pace with the team now.

Besides, i opened this thread with the purpose of wanting to know whether or not Harimau Muda could be Crawley Town, asking people's opinion.
You apparently ignored the purpose of the thread my friend.

But then again, you're prolly an avid Harimau Muda fan, and seeing a thread like this wouldn't make you feel comfortable, init?
I'm sorry if you feel that way, no offence intended man.
