Hmm.. I can't think of any Sony non-touch sreen atm but if touch screen I would recommend Samsung or HTC within your budget.1. Brand.

Samsung Galaxy Ace - 800-900, Android OS
Samsung Galaxy S - 1250 AP, Android OS
HTC Desire - 1500, Android OS
HTC Aria - 1299, Android OS
I don't recommend Sony because as a Sony user for 6 years, it was not that user friendly as the device hangs frequently..
