lol...this is funny..but i do understand the dilemma being in your position before...
anyway, there are very radiation exposure nowadays unless your wife are still using CRT type of monitor. LCD monitors does not produce much radiation. Even if she is using CRT monitor, her face would be nearest to the screen. I am sure her belly is far enough to be of any harm. Moreover, her belly will be under the table which is another layer blocking the radiation.

here's another perspective, how much protection is needed? Total or balanced?
I always think people should not go overboard on doing something. Need to look at the situation and then assessed. Sometimes 100% and sometimes 50% or sometimes no need to bother.
Here is one example from my real life situation. My friend always have sore throat problem. She cannot take anything spicy or fried. If eat something like KFC...right away or the next day will get sorethroat problem. The reason is because her mother doesn't let her eat those things since childhood. Cause he mother says eating chilly or fried stuffs will cause problems like constipation or sore throat or heat leading to fever and so on. And because of that she sort of developed some sort of inability to copy with fried or spicy food.
The mother never thought of that. You can start taking moderately. Nobody ask you to take like crazy amount. Me on other hand like fried stuffs. I can eat like crazy fried stuffs and seldom have sorethroat. Cause my mom doesn't control my food intact. Nothing wrong eating anything edible.
So my question is, do you want to subject your child or yourself to things that "might" be harmful just because? For example, sun light is also have radiation, you never leave your child out in the sun for even 1 second? Near the sunlight also have radiation. How? Life inside a double layer room forever? How many pregnant mother that you know that is working in the office facing computer nearly 8 hour a day gave birth to a defective baby CONFIRMED due to the radiation? Even if you do decide to get an antiradiation clothing and happy about your child being born normal. What's next? No antibiotics for your child? No TV for your child? No computer for your child?
Say you avoided the baby/fetus from computer radiation, what about sun radiation? TV radiation? Mobilephone radiation? Since you protected the baby from those radiation, would it be possible that the baby will develop some sort of inability to copy with radiation? Later in life when the child is subjected to radiation that is deems low for 99.99% of the people but your child can't take it and got cancer. Whose fault it is?
