Hi. I'm getting my STPM results on 21st February which is next Monday.

So, I need some reviews from the current students or ex-students from these unis to help me make my choice ..

The degree course that I will be taking is Mechanical Engineering with Automotive ..

I dont have my results yet, but I would like to intake more information about the 3 unis .. so I can have more time to analyse the best choice

go for utm. well established & one of the best engineering uni(in msia)

universiti tendang menendang. beware

between the choices you have given, it's kinda obvious UTM is the best =D

My teacher also told me about it .. Universiti Tendang Menendang .. once you failed an exam, straight kick out right ? Scary .. I didn't want that !!

UTeM quite good.
UTM must score very well, if not, you can be thrown away even in 1st year.

Ya I'm considering the UTeM as my 1st choice because the location is very convenient for me as my sister is studying in Manipial Melaka campus ...

please make sure that you have your own transport.
Because in UTEM transport is always an issue

Hi there.

I am from Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP).

If you havent know, UniMAP is the only university in Malaysia who offers ONLY engineering courses. It is a pure engineering university.

Previously, UniMAP is known as Kolej Universiti Kejuruteraan Utara Malaysia (KUKUM).

Please take note of this university.

hi .. yes I've noticed that uni since 2008 because I wanted to enrol for diploma in mechatronics at UniMAP .. but sadly even with 8A1B SPM results, my application were not approved

UTM's mecha eng is good.

but er..... we all know mech fac is not easy to get A one. so many killer subjects D:

can also consider iium for much more of international environment, it do also have engineering degree.

Too bad I'm not bumiputera ..

and i got my results today I think slim chance for UTM .. either UMP or UTeM .. hope can get into these uni .. if not go Nilai UC

IIUM is not only for Bumis ^^" UiTM is the one that only accept bumis.
Other than the 5 research Universities, IIUM is the next best in rankings among IPTAs.

Why not try Universiti Malaysia Perlis?

As I have mentioned, I am from UniMAP, and currently I am doing my final year in Mechanical Engineering.

It is quite a new university and they are building their new main campus in a small town named Ulu Pauh.

This means that all the laboratory equipment and everything will be BRAND NEW!

As its name suggests, it really is an ULU place. The nearest cinema is located at Jitra, Kedah.

Just imagine how minimum the amount of distraction that you will get...

Of course, in town, there are places that you can hang out with your coursemates.

But the level of entertainment is very limited.

If you come from a large city like KL or Ipoh, you will have to take some time to familiarise yourself with the surroundings over there.

Now let me give you a brief guide of the attachments.

The attachment entitled UniMAP Campus shows a very general overview of the buildings and facilities around the new campus.

The buildings in the background is the hostels for students. Students can stay there for the whole duration of their course, no problem. No tendang menendang, nothing.

The greenish drawing and the building in front of it on the left is the library, and it is a three-storey library.

The greyscale drawing on the right is the Pusat Islam, and the building in front of it is the Chancellory building a.k.a admin dept.

The other attachment with the name Sch of Mechatronic Eng is the entrance to the School of Mechatronic Engineering.

This facaulty houses three courses, namely Mechatronic Eng, Mechanical Eng and Biomedical Electronics Engineering.

The enrolment criteria for diploma in UniMAP is very strict, to be honest with you. Especially into the School of Mechatronic Engineering.

This is because after your SPM, you get to study in an engineering-filled environment.

Not for the faint-hearted really...

dont forget UTHM as well.

2.9 can't get you into UTM engineering course la. I've checked www.quansheng.org , you actually need more than 3.33 & above to enter UTM, the next you should try is UTeM. They are more towards a practical technical aspect, which I think is better than UMP or even UniMAP, it actually trains you & let you experience some of the real work situation. However, there will be more practical assignments there.

And one thing...... There would be more bumis in UTeM than UMP/UniMAP if that is your concern. I usually do meet some paranoid people that can't live with bumis, but im fine with that

But if you're going to Nilai UC, then you should prepare your final year to go overseas..... or else why spending money in private u's if you complete all the years locally. I don't think there's a difference in Malaysian U's, the important is to train your social skills. However, in overseas, you'll naturally adapt to their environment, because it's their culture..... They think differently & socialize differently

Lol speaking of which, I'm already in UTeM now and in mid 2nd sem already .. and there are hell lots of chinese here ..

To tell you the truth, I only heard it from a few of my seniors. Im entering this year, hope I get it............. The main question for me is 1.) Got leng lui?? 2.) Where does co-curricular or clubs gather & held their activities?

1.) leng lui got la .. but mostly at the manufacturing faculty ... electrical fac dont have much girls but quality quite ok hehe ..

2.) co-curicular activities mostly inside main campus ... PPP (pusay pembangunan pelajar) or komplex sukan .. the incoming degree students are lucky .. newly built in-campus hostel will be ready by this september .. soo damn lucky get to stay new hostel !!

just dont choose mechanical eng....if you choose,you will become monk and eat vege for 4 yrs...

Im choosing Engineering Technology majoring Product Design. If I'm not mistaken my campus is in Ayeh Keyoh Industrial Campus. How's the place?? Is it convenient ?

I know it's new, they are still applying for BEM's accreditation. Most probably will get by the time I graduate
