Hi, This morning i wake up i suddenly think. People is selling seal set of iPhone 4 and their warranty is 1year by local carrier and it starts from the day you activate it. Is it true? Let's say if i dont wan activate it and hacktivate it does this mean my warranty still not yet start? LMAO!!!! Anyone working in Maxis/Digi can answer me this? rclxm9.gif

Ok the image above it shows that my warranty start from the date that i activate it. Why am i sure of this. Cos i buy a sealed iPhone from shop and not go to maxis/digi for it. And normally phone shops buy the phone and keep.

Does this mean people in garage sale selling sealed set means no 1 year warranty from carrier? Are you 100% sure is on purchase date and not activation date?

the first time u want to turn on the iphone, a pic with itunes logo will show up.
means u must connect it to itunes and by doing that will activate ur iphone.

I think it's upon activation but as you very well know local telcos always twist things around and claim upon purchase that warranty starts.

actually you can check your warranty from here:

https://selfsolve.apple.com/agreementWarrantyDynamic.do

Key in the set's serial number (found on the box). If not found then the set is new.

@ iPix Maxis & Digi staff are supposed to activate the phone for you when you buy it. Now, if you hacktivate it... theoretically you could 'extend' the date...

but Apple thought of that. The sales records are updated online, so if there's ever a dispute about the warranty, they will take the date of sale as the final answer.

tl;dr version : date of purchase. its on the receipt.

So its 2 way. It depends on activation. and also date of purchase? Did u confirm it from Apple or Digi/Maxis? Or you just say it as your own way? hmm.gif

Normally they have system, its either you activate it through online or through receipt and sometimes through manufacturing date. It depend, from my observe currently via activation. Nowadays many of electronic product do that.

I used to work at machines AND Maxis Sunway. so I guess I know what I'm talking about. I can't share all the details here, but lets be clear. Activation is not relevant.
Warranty starts on date of purchase as recorded in partner's POS system & customer's receipt smile.gif
