QUOTE
Romans 4:5 (ESV)
And to the one who does not work but believes in him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is counted as righteousness,

I want share a revelation why our salvation is justified by faith and not effort in the flesh.
And I thank God, He has foreseen, that faith alone is able and will bring us out far better than our effort will be able to.

Most of us think that when we are fully obedient to God, we are saved from condemnation due to our own mistakes.
Hence deserve to partake Jesus sacrifice at the cross. I believe most Christians will think like this.
As long as I don't lie, don't watch porn, don't doubt, don't curse, don't lust at woman,
don't do this or that <insert whatever don't s >, I'm in a safe zone before God.
God can't judge against me for the things I didn't do.

What we don't sometime realize is that none of us are perfect. Myself included.
I don't think there's anyone on Planet Earth who is able to perfectly control his/her own emotion, thoughts or actions.
There are times we will fall in our journey of a Christian life. So to speak, missed the mark of grace. So what happens then?

I will tell you what happens next. We will feel a distance between us and God.
We will feel we are unworthy to come near to God because we have sinned.
The greater the sin, the greater we distance ourselves.

And Here is the solution. Faith is the answer.

Our effort may fail us from time to time. It takes time to grow and mature in the spirit, doesn't happen over night.
So when you fall from grace, the feeling of guilt and condemnation is there. To rely on effort, might cause a sense of hopelessness.
Under the New Covenant, The Bible have never supported once that we are justified by works for Righteousness but in fact discourage us to look to our works but 100% on Faith.

The Bible says we are transformed by the renewing of our mind, it didn't say by our effort. (Romans 12:2 )
So be transformed by believing. Right believing will lead to right living. Our transformation starts when we think right.

Have Faith in what Jesus has done for us. His sacrifice at the cross for your sins and mine has been finished.
Jesus cried out,"it is finished!" (John 19:30). Your Salvation is complete and finished at the cross, regardless of what you have done.

That is why the Bible says in

Hebrews 9:12
He did not enter by means of the blood of goats and calves; but he entered the Most Holy Place once for all by his own blood, having obtained eternal redemption.

1 Peter 3:18
For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive by the Spirit,

Jesus Sacrifice at the cross for you sins according to Hebrews 9:12 is eternal redemption. Stop for a moment, what is it saying here?
Your Salvation is eternal redemption. You cannot lose your Salvation. When you believe and have Faith in that, your repentance comes effortlessly.
You don't have to force it. The more you are conscious that you've been forgiven for past, current and future sins, your obedience and repentance comes as a fruit of the Holy Spirit! AMEN! Your Salvation is secure and assured.

You can pray this prayer, saying

Dear God, I believe You ARE greater than my sins. I believe Jesus sacrifice on the cross is greater than my sins.
I believe your words that says it is Jesus Obedience that makes me righteous, not mine. (Romans 5:19)
I thank you God, It is by believing in Jesus, I'm made Righteous.
I receive all these by Faith in Jesus Name.
Amen.

I hope this helps you in your journey with God.

God Bless.

serious question: y does the bible mention unicorns? 9 times at that? unicorns exist? rhino? 2 horns? one horn? not to be taken literally? humour me... i'm all ears
*
Already answered that in one of the threads in /k/

reason is Old English translation,

unicorn actually means single horned animal.

not a horse with horn.

edit. reason to represent strength.

For a simple reason

QUOTE
2 Corinthians 3:6
He has made us competent as ministers of a new covenant--not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.
Under the new covenant, God's message is one of reconciliation, no more condemnation because Christ has come. The focus is now on redemption through Jesus Christ. Notice the word there competent? It means God give sufficiency more for those who preach Grace and reconciliation rather than condemnation.

It's supported in this scripture

QUOTE
2 Corinthians 5:19 (NIV)
that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men's sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation.

Yes all sins or wrong doings must be trialled in justice of punishment but that's not in the Heart of God in the first place.

His heart is that, all men is saved.

QUOTE
2 Peter 3:9
The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.

This is what I sincerely think why the Devil rebelled, not because he wanted power for himself, but simply did not want to us to be the new upcoming rulers.

*
Sure, I mean there are books and resources talking about stuff like this.

But I'll bank on the scriptures because God knows the heart of every man and spiritual beings. Nothing is hidden from his eyes.

The scripture did say clearly what the Devil coveted.

There may be a need for a pesrpective on Hell itself, instead of just fire and brimstone:

Well maybe for some people, they need this type of message and preaching.

but the Gist and core of the New Testament is really about reconciliation.

Interesting. The questions in this video are the ones which made me know that it's not just standing for what you think it is right, but also constantly ask yourself if you could ever be wrong. Constant investigation via study, and the world view around you. The question which the Damascus Muslim brought up that he was talking about about, "I think the Muslim should stop asking how Jesus die, rather, they should ask why did He die". It is this very spirit of realization, not a realization of which religion is more correct than one than the other, but more towards how there are bigger, and more important questions, the correct questions instead of the answers which everyone has differently, this very spirit of questioning, seemed to me is the only way towards enlightenment or whatever you wish to call it, towards the understanding of your own religion you are currently having right now, and possibly a conversion towards the religion whichever you think it is the truth.

Of course, the question of how one religion think it is better than another is still there, and I believe that this is more of a personalized journey in accordance to his of her world view, by asking questions along the way through examination and experience of questioning while living in the very breathing world you are in.

Should you are asking about my world view, Christianity has been one of the religion I knew which were constantly questioned about, bombarded, and re-questioned about it ever more than other religions who seemed to have only one or limited say in the realm of questioning...that this is our religion, do not question it please, and respect my religion please...those kind of insecure responses you get whenever you question their faith.
*
Well not Ravi, He answers them.

All of them.

Even Richard Dawkins.

If you have time, youtube his videos.

Very very interesting. biggrin.gif

Yes, I know he has answered that question, specifically with the list of categories which needed to be fulfilled in order to stand out as what will be the religion one should be looking for. I was more interested in his dialogue with the Damascus Muslim though, as mentioned in my previous post.

I will look at them in good time.

People, I strongly suggest this equation:

Philosophy + religion = Understanding.
*
Well in essence he's saying

Islam is the ONLY historically acclaimed religion among all the religions that deny Jesus was crucified at the cross whereas the Greek historian, Romans historian, Pagan historian, Jewish historian and Christian historian have all recorded that Jesus DID died on the cross.

And herein lies the problem with Islam Historian. The start of this important point, points to it's fallacy.

He argues with a Moslem scholar by the name of Sheikh Hussein in Damascus to the point he couldn't deny the sacrifice of Jesus and start to agree,

by saying It's time for the Moslem world to stop asking If Jesus died on the cross and start asking why. smile.gif

Question. Do God test us?
*
Yes. very much.

The purpose to refine our Faith.

The test will not be easy, and it's not a game.

But If you're willing to go through it, you will mature and be spiritually stronger.

There's a difference with tempting.

God does not tempt us with evil.

The kinda of test = could be difficult situations or people.

He will never tempt you like with pornography, stuff like that. That, the devil will tempt you.

*
It's best that you get baptised in your current Church, teck yang.

Because to be Baptised in water, you need to be immersed in water and it should be done in Church.

And you are required to attend Water Baptism course before being baptised.

It's a short course, every Church have this.

But I speak blessings to you in Jesus Name to be Baptised. biggrin.gif

Let me know if your Church can accommodate this otherwise I can bring you to my Church. biggrin.gif

River of Life Sanctuary.

Why don't you try and ask your Church first? If they don't have then let me know.

Of course, this is /k/.

There are many unbelievers.

Didn't the Holy Spirit say

2 Corinthians 4:4
The god (Satan) of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.

Colossians 1:21
This includes you who were once far away from God. You were his enemies, separated from him by your evil thoughts and actions.

unbelievers are under the grip of Satan's blindness and bondages and they have becomes enemies in their mind because of ignorance.

the best way to promote christian is to let ppl see how u live "inside christian" with ur happy life. when other can see how u live happily "inside christian", other will follow. at this moment most of ur verbal words ppl will listen & believe what u had told.

I'm not very good in english, hope u can understand.  nod.gif

Yeah and it's not easy to be a good example for Christ because we all have our weakness.

But one of my sister in Christ encourage me, if want to wait for perfection then have to wait until old, like that

have to wait forever. doh.gif

So we do the best we can.

The Bible says to be careful to act in the public. Uphold ourselves with a high standard. (Romans 13:13)

The apostle Paul says it like this. "Keep on moving and never give up". (Philippians 3:13)

Its not easy to "Uphold ourselves with a high standard", we can still "be careful to act in the public". And yes "Keep on moving and never give up" its a lot better then "do nothing". Perfection is a verb that human nature to chase for it, we're lucky that we know there is only "lord" can be perfect.. so I don't chase perfection.

Its time to say gd9 buddies, going to sleep now!  thumbup.gif

But you can chase for improvement.

How?

Not by human will power or effort but by surrendering your trust in God's Holy Spirit who is in you to do the work.

Morning Dear Brothers n Sisters in Christ.

I'm more convince than ever that whatever the world insults or suggest about God is usually the opposite in Truth.

They will usually say things like God is evil and wants and already know they are fated to go to hell because they cannot believe in God.

This passage prove otherwise.

1 Thessalonians 5:9
For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Hope this passage speaks to you this morning.

God Bless.

Ah that's because you're open to the Holy Spirit.

It takes the Holy Spirit to illuminate his word.

Man can only preach at best. People without the Holy Spirit may not understand.

The Holy Spirit in you gives you understanding from many angles, even from the same passage.

It's called Rhema.
