I really like this girl at CG but after reading reading Joshua Harris book, I felt like maybe I am not ready.

I know dating a girl will eventually end up with marriage but I am not sure how committed I am.

I am just afraid that if I don't tell her that I love her, I might miss the opportunity and she might like another guy (which there is another guy that often hangs out with her).

But I trust whatever loss I had occur while pursuing God, he will make up the losses.

i mean, according to Joshua Harris, if you want to be a relationship then make sure you are committed to marry her at the end of say 2 years courtship. But I am committed to marry but I am not sure if I am ready though

Hi H4E, the reason why love is so volatile in the circumstance you mentioned is because of few reasons which i believe is key.

1. Impatience.
2. instant gratification
3. Both are related.

I hate the feeling of being alone.

Temptation tends to come into my mind and tempt me to sin.

Worse is, whenever I am alone, my thoughts will wander away.

Previously, I always watch porn to relieve my loneliness and pass the boring times but I know it's wrong.

It's been 2 weeks now since I last watch it again but it's playing all in my mind again, I tried to keep myself busy and even read God's word but the temptation is still there.

may i ask one question here: what's the actual belief of christians? from what i read in the bible, god is One and Only, but from what i know many christians believe that god is somehow 3 in 1 (trinity).. which is totally different thing from One and only. Here's what I found from bible:

Isaiah 46:9 — For I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me.
Chronicles 17:20 — O LORD, there is none like thee, neither is there any God beside thee, according to all that we have heard with our ears.
James 2:19 — Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.

If according to the phrases above, it seems The Holy Qur'an and bible shares the same view:

...Also, Jesus name is also "Emmanuel" which means "God with us".

It's 3 separate "persons" of the same God - with different functions. I like to think of it as:
* Father being His will and desire for us;
* Holy Spirit being the Microphone of His will through His Word (logos & rhema);
* Jesus being the perfect and sinless human expression of how we are to approach His Way.

A lot of it is confirmed in what I'd call "indirect" phrases in New Testament, mostly "indirect" due to the persecution by the Jews at the time, but it does make it quite clear.

Quran is different, as it intentionally denies that Jesus was Christ (i.e. God, the Christ / Saviour).

Jews also deny Jesus was Christ as well, as they believe the Messianic (Christ) prophecy was not fulfilled to save His people, but this Messianic prophecy will be fulfilled in His Second Coming to judge the living and the dead.
