Just Believe.




The comforting words of our saviour.

You know as humans being we tend to be of complex nature. There's always this need to reason as to how, why and when because of the uncertainty of Life.

This is our human nature. But you should understand it is also our fallen nature. Back in the garden of Eden, God has completed everything for Adam and Eve. They don't really have to struggle to live as everything is provided for. All they (Adam&Eve) have to do is reach out their hands to pick the providence because it is God who caused all the things to happen not them (Adam&Eve) (Genesis 2:9).

But because of disobeying God, after the Fall, Adam had to toil in worrisome labour to eat. The switch for work went to Man. You can see it from the verse here.

Genesis 3:17-19 says

Cursed is the ground because of you; through painful toil you will eat of it all the days of your life.
It will produce thorns and thistle for you and you will eat the plants of the field.
By the sweat of your brow, you will eat food.

Since the beginning of time until today, this curse of sin has caused Man to suffer in doubt regarding Life because there is no security. (Genesis3:18) The work that people do becomes painful toils. Money comes in and there are holes causing it to go out. People are afraid of the future, they worry about the economy, the problems in life. There was really no rest.

Even Rich people have problems many do not know of. Some of their families are broken over distrust, promiscuity of unfaithful husband or Wife because of money, the fear of competition, They can be rich in one moment and broken down to poverty in the next, etc. The examples are endless. They have to work work work and toil toil and toil otherwise how will things work out in life?

I believe the complexity of Life due to the curse of sin coupled with the evil work of the Enemy caused Man to shrink into sceptical doubt.

But When Jesus came, if you study the pattern of his word, you'll find the constant phrase do not be afraid, If only you believe.

These are simple commands but yet Man find it hard to believe and follow. But yet these are powerful Life transforming words because it is God's own word.

You must remember Jesus said Heaven and Earth may pass away but HIS WORDS will never. Why is it so?

John 1:1 explains it. The word itself is God. In Genesis, whatever words spoken from the mouth of God came to Life. God didn't struggle to make it happen, He just spoke it to Life. That is the awesome power of God.

The very same power of God's word now resides in abundance in the Bible and in You.

Philippians 4:19 says And my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.
John 10:10 says I (Jesus) have come that they may have Life and have it abundantly.

But why is it there are Christians who don't believe this. They may confess this words but they're not sure whether it will happen or not?

Answer: Doubt, the complexity of Life because of the curse of the Sin.

Understand that When Jesus came, He came to do away the curse of Sin so that Man can enjoy the simplicity of Life without the need to worry. I believe it is the original intention of the Garden of Eden where it is God who richly provides us everything.

And this has to start by simply, Believing.

Believing in God. If you have spiritual ears to hear, hear his simple but yet divinely powerful words.

Don't be afraid; just believe. That is Jesus speaking to you.
