i have a Asus Rampage III mobo and due to lightning strike the mobo is now fried. It's only 6 months old and i wondering if the warranty given by the company got cover lightning strike or not? By right the rules says will not cover any warranty if it's struck by lightning issit?

1st of all any natural disasters including lightning strike will void your warranty. Just try and send to the manufacturer. If they don't ask u what happen just say that cannot power on.

warranty does not cover damages caused by external factors like lightning strike, based on theory that is. in real life it is actually very difficult to prove lightning damaged. a burnt mark could easily be caused by normal component failures. so as long as you don't admit that it is caused by lightning, they can only guess and pressure you to give in. and you will be surprised it is your dealer that usually the one trying to deny you warranty and not the manufacturer.

just send to claim for warranty, if they ask just say "dunno oh" all of sudden cannot power on liao..hehe
i used to have a mainboard also struck by lightning, some more got burn mark. then i use a berus gigi gosok-gosok the burn mark area until the mark not tat visible...then send for warranty..and the technician without further asking me what's the problem directly assemble the mainboard with proc, ram etc..power up...Boom! again..he smile smile there and replace another new mainboard for me..heheh

Just send it back for RMA, dont tell them its lightning strike that caused it.

THEY WONT FIND OUT, lightning strike damages are almost impossible to deduce.

I have one Dell mobo and 1 dell CPU damaged by lightning strike, I just called them and told them that they died for no apparent reason.

They took the components and replaced them with new ones, just like that.

UNLESS there are huge burning marks on the components or very visible physical damages.

You can always said it is due to over voltage due to unstable current. This way you can claim warranty even with burn mark smile.gif

ada fizikal damage OR just cant turn on? if u said `nothing` YES u can.make sure u motherboard totally out (die) cant on and their will waranty for you.

warranty computer boleh pusing-pusing la bro.but DO NOT TELL u motherboard kena ligthing.u just said dont know.yesterday can use...hahaha.

there`s 4 thing can void your warranty:

1)software/configuration

2)c.r.a.c.k/burn/something fizikal dmage

3)self modified.or repair.

4)ligthing strike/natural disaster.

mostly when kena ligthing strke the motherboard cant on..or when on its off in 10 second.when this happend just said `dont know` `entah` `tak tahu` .so thw warranty become useful.if they ask hujan atau ada tukar apa2 ke just said `NO` or `Tak ada`

the best word when claiming warranty is "YESTERDAY OK,TODAY NOT OK AND I DONT KNOW LA BRO" hahahaha
don't starting to say..
1. i think ...
2. oo maybe..
3. might be..
4. oo just now...
these word may trap u brows.gif
