Dermalogica Newsletter Vol.31
[Beauty 101 Suncare]

How to take care in the sun and the damaging effects of sunlight? One major effect that sunlight or ultraviolet light (UV) has on your skin is to damage it. Short term it causes sunburn, but longer term effects are even more hazardous. UV ages your skin, but its most dangerous effect is to cause skin cancer.

There are three main types of skin cancer all of which are known to be caused by ultraviolet light:
# Malignant melanoma: characterised by brown or dark colouring.
# Basal cell carcinoma
# Squamous cell carcinoma

There is no doubt that a tan makes people feel more healthy and artificial sunlight is used to treat certain dermatological conditions. However, some people can cope with going out in the sun and become brown, but others just burn. If your skin cannot cope with sunlight then you may be at risk of sun damage, premature ageing and skin cancers if you do not take care.

The following articles explain how you can decide on your skin type and how to take appropriate care in the sun. Read on...!

Hi Ray,

After using the sensitized skin kit for about 2 weeks.... I find the soothing spray is very good thumbup.gif It really soothed my skin, I can feel that my skin is not so dry anymore and it produced less oil compared to last time icon_rolleyes.gif

I am so satisfied and I can't wait to try the hydrating masque also drool.gif
