Hi, am a guy and currently using Dermalogica Intensive Moisture Balance and Sebum Clearing Mask. Previously I was using Active Moist. Everything goes smooth but my blackheads never can be removed. Then I told the beautician, she recommend me the Intensive Moisture Balance (Or another kind of moisturiser which is not Active Moist), she said I probably needed to try stronger moisturiser.

For the result, I have a lot a lot of pimples now. I thought is my cleansing gel problem then I change to another brand. Problem persisted...I stopped using the moisturiser and the pimples seemed under control now, only use toner after washed face.

So can you help me out a bit about this? Did the beautician did the wrong suggestion for me? Thanks.

hi i couldnt comment on whats went wrong on the consultation you had earlier on from salon.
but to me, breakouts could be from varies factor but i will not recommned intensive moisture balance because it suits ultra dry skin condition. over moisture could possible caused you breakouts .in fact, to reduce /get rid of acne skin ,you need some products that minimize excessive oil and reduce oil secretion.
Active Moist is the oil free. or else you can try Oil Control lotion 59ml actually. best is if you can visit more salons to get physical face mapping ya.
Sebum clearing mask is a good choice. but for blackheads and whiteheads,it will not disappear honestly. because human tends to produce sebum everyday.. we use product just to control /minimisze and maintain glowing skin. (there is another target product to reduce blackheads/whiteheads from cellnique as well -skin action sebum gel)

i'm looking for a good moisturizer from dermalogica. i have very sensitive skin, if the moisturizer is too oily, i might get pimples or oil seeds very easily. i tried active moist before, it cause small breakouts. any recommendations?

may i know if this only happened when you used only one product -Active Moist? Could it be another product cause the problem?
If it is , you can try the Cellnique Intensive Hydrating Oasis Gel, which is in gel base instead of cream base. I think it should help to improve her skin condition, although both item actually oil free. within dermalogica, active moist already the mild-est moisturiser.

hi there, I had the same situation as yours. I finally just used up to the toner step as my moisturiser, and ever since then, I never had those small breakouts... I guess the toner is good enough acting as our moisturiser, which is a great news for us as we don't need to spend more =P

for some skin condition particular very oily may not need a moisturiser , but do make extra effort for skin hydration because without moisturisation we tend to aged faster blush.gif

Hi there,

I've been using Dermalogica Clay Cleanser for around a few months already and I've been thinking of changing my toner to Dermalogica too. Which toner do you recommend? I don really have oily face, mostly on T zone

hi wendy87
you can try Multiactive toner 250ml
Spritz on critical hydration with this refreshing blend of skin-repairing Aloe moisture-binding humectants plus soothing Lavender Balm Mint and Arnica. Fragrance free. Professional recommendation advised.

Ingredients
Lavender Extract a natural antiseptic soothes and purifies the skin. Balm Mint and Aloe Vera cool and soften the skin. Extracts of Arnica and Cucumber natural skin fresheners help condition skin. Moisture-binding proteins act as humectants to allow for more effective moisture absorption.

Directions
Apply after cleansing by spraying directly over the entire face and throat. It can also be sprayed onto fingertips or cotton pad and applied to the skin.

I'm using Dermalogica products:

Essential Cleansing Solution
Multi Active Toner
Skin Hydrating Masque
Skin Smoothing Cream

I do not know is all this product suits me well or not. My cheeks quite dry, and also got freckles, uneven toned as well... nose a bit oily, no pimples but a lot of blackheads ...

Is that fine?

Yes! It can use as Make Up Base, but I don't think it is oily. Retail Rm178.
It takes extra time to pre order from salon. Thank you.

Skin Smoothing Cream 100ml 262

hi felice821
i have provided the retail price as above ya.
all the products are fine to use for your skin condition; if you think skin smoothing cream is too moisture, you can try active moist.
i would suggest you to try Daily microfolaint scrub 75g to remove dead skin cell and allow new skin cell regrow, it can improve even skin tone /smootheir skin condition and helps to minimize blackheads

Thanks Rayanne!

Btw, why some recommend me using the Special cleansing gel, whats the different?

Should I used Gentle Cream Exfoliant? or just the Daily Microfoliant will do??

And whats the discount price for the above listed item??

This is a bit out of topic, did the salon you order do facial as well.. if yes, how much?

Thanks Rayanne!

Btw, why some recommend me using the Special cleansing gel, whats the different?
special cleansing gel is suitable for normal oily skin condition  , not surprise to recommend using it because if you have extraordinary blackheads it could be due to excessive oil (sebum) production, this cleanser can remove oiliness.
you can try either to make changes on your moisturiser OR cleanser (essential clsr suitable for normal dry skin type, same for skin smoothing cream); active moist more suitable for oily skin type as this moisturiser is basically oil free

Should I used Gentle Cream Exfoliant? or just the Daily Microfoliant will do??
gentle cream exfoliant suitable for acne prone skin type as it wont excite the skin cell, not too rough.
while u can try daily microfoliant when your current scrub finished, this is award winning product it helps to improve skin tone and leaving skin brighter and smoother noticeably. at least i have this feeling from the first week used

And whats the discount price for the above listed item??
kindly discuss via pm as this is solely for consultation topic ya

This is a bit out of topic, did the salon you order do facial as well.. if yes, how much?
supplier info confidential; however you can check the facial treatment across www.leonarddrake.com.my dear

hi felice pls see my response above in green ya.
you are in correct topic as this is focus only on consultation/sharing on dermalogica =)
