Try new things..... Or rather I say people that willing to buy Forte have confident to them?
The popular brands that some of us keep on chasing do have some typical problems from day 1. Like GB problem, over priced repair cost, lack of experience by third parties....... So in other words, this are chasing people to stay away sometimes.

She asks why not discuss first before getting it. Well, from the words I asking her a few times regarding cars, only "vios & persona" appeared. I told her I had better get a second hand wira until Toyota comes out with a better car if she insisted want us to get vios. I hope our forte will thoroughly change her mind after she seated in it and it wouldn't give us too much problems after > 5 years, else I'm the loser in this war.

i join this thread from pre-V1 - V10, resale value is a "hot" word but don care, i already enjoy for more than 15mths of driving u all can keep "debating" abt it hahaha

Well, is like protecting certain brands and justify that be a bank's slave forever are right....
When every car used for > 5 years, the value are more or less the same, if including everything, from road tax, insurance, bank's interest and the resale value....

any problems after using for 15 months?

I think so..any 1st batch owners who have been using for >1yr can testify any problems so far?

Apart from minor rattles which were fixed during my recent service, no major problems at all from Cera who is now 1 year and 2 months old.

^^^This is bad news.... For the particular fanboys, hahaha..... So, after all, Forte are a good car in some sense.... Leave you speechless......

i think perhaps many T&H fanboys are just jealous with Forte's value for money buy so they decided that they have to say something to make forte seem bad..sigh...i pity the fools

Hmm...problems? There wasn't any big problems for mine (1yr).

The relatively minor problems my car had (mostly just some sounds that my sensitive ears picked up...the car is quiet, so they sound more obvious):

- Squeaking sound from the seat. Still there after 1yr and 7x visit to service center. Gave up on it...not always noticeable.
- Aircond vent click click sound. Probably the clips are not good. After parking under the hot sun, there's "orchestra" of click sounds. But after a while it stops. Again they said can't do much about it during the recent service clinic. I checked out the newer Fortes and I pressed hard on the vents...found them to be a lot more secure, so no problems for new buyers I suppose
- Some dashboard rattling...comes and goes, not always reproducible, so I gave up on that too.
- Seat belt height adjuster noise. Sometimes there, sometimes not, now I ignore it. Slightly annoying as the adjuster is located right next to my ear.

Some mechanical problems me/other people had:
- Air cond compressor. Heard some cases of them bursting. But most of the time the symptoms show up earlier (probably shaking a lot when turned on). So, they get replaced before the big problems show up. I think KFC got his compressor replaced. In the service dealer I go to, looks like more than 10 cases in Penang.
- Suspension: er..only hear from KFC that his absorbers gone....probably due to driving style?? Haha...
- Engine hum. I got my power steering pump replaced as my engine had a humming noise (a whirling sound that you can hear 1-2 seconds after you stepped and released the throttle). But some degree of humming will still be there if we're using hydraulic ps as it is generated by the moving liquids.


Car problems will always hit a certain percentage of people. Other than a few minor things (which I think often occur in T&H cars too!) the Forte is great. Still smiling while driving it after a year

guys, want to ask... the shark fin antenna approximately how much damage including installation? i asked my SA he quotes me RM350... sounds expensive... any idea?

Thanks guys for the feedback. I think those minor problems are common car problems, my GLivina also got some of these sounds/noises

test drove both 1.6 and 2.0 today

how come 1.6 f/c better than 2.0 ?

erm....isnt that the way it is supposed to be?

2.0 are good only when on highways.... Else, lower cc will be better....

guys i have a question about ESC, yesterday i was driving on a normal condition road and sudently the ESC indicator light is ON and my car starting to get sluggish a bit for a few seconds (i think becoz ESC is ON) but the indicator light wouldnt go away it remains ON even until i reach my destination about 10-15 km away, turned my engine off.

after a while i start my engine again the light is no longer lit.. so is this condition normal or what, coz i just got my car about a week ago and only noticed this yesterday. thanks sifu..

- btw i took a slight corner, which i consider normal, not dangerous corner or antyhing its just a u-turn when the light started to come on

just wonder is there a seat belt alert ( driver site ) for forte 1.6SX 2011 ? i noticed there are no alert or warning sound even i didn't fasten seatbelt while driving... according to the user manual there is it but my one don't have ...
