QUOTE(jimmykvt @ Apr 11 2011, 12:41 PM) By the way, those of you who used wire transfer (telegraphic transfer) to purchase laptop from US online reseller. I think LPC-Digital does that for their payments; ordered my NP8150 from them last time using Maybank Foreign Transfer online, but cancelled the order due to me traveling away.As I notice in XoticPC, there are 2 U.S. banks involved. Fund is transferred from our local bank to an intermediary bank in U.S., then only to the beneficiary bank. Any other U.S. online reseller which you can make a direct telegraphic transfer from our local bank to the beneficiary bank without going through an intermediary bank? At the moment, I only know how the wire transfer is like for XoticPC. Not sure how others work. As most of you might know, if go through an intermediary bank, sure got extra charges from U.S. side. I just played Shogun 2...
It is by far the best game I have ever played, but on full settings with all options enabled...a bit lagging haha but quite playable. ![]() ![]() ![]() And there's Bulletstorm. Also a great game and runs very well on full settings. ![]() This post has been edited by This is a Lamp: Apr 13 2011, 05:59 PM |

QUOTE(rickysim84 @ Apr 14 2011, 12:51 AM) i dun think all model have such problems right? Or maybe they will release some firmware or chipset driver to update it to solve those problems? Try these new USB 3.0 drivers. Install firmware then drivers (first link then second link).http://www.station-drivers.com/telechargem...rivers.com).exe http://www.station-drivers.com/telechargem...rivers.com).exe |

QUOTE(kahjye @ Apr 14 2011, 04:56 PM) Seriously, I don't know why you want to spam them everyday. If they ship it they ship it. I did not disturb my order for 2 weeks, then it just automatically changes to testing and building. Constant pecking at their noses would of course make them a bit annoyed; they're still human. If I bug you everyday about doing housework, would you like it? I don't think so. I'm not trying to discourage you, but ordering something takes time. It's not like it arrives just like that, magically appearing at your doorstep. I never seen an Ebay or online item bought, shipped and received the same day before. |

QUOTE(azimlatip @ Apr 15 2011, 11:55 PM) @ALeUNe Nah, no overheating here. Sager laptops CAN cool very well.Alright, we'll see about that. Hehe. Thank you anyways Won't be getting those 17" ones cause it won't be that portable for me. So I prefer the 15" ones. Tempted to get the NP7280 but it's big.. For now, I'll just lurk in this thread. Definitely will be getting Sager for sure (first choice was Asus, but then poisoned by Sager due to their effective cooling) Anyone came across overheating issues with their Sager (81xx series)? Just so you know, the laptop itself is portable; the power adapter isn't. If you want to read more, check my indepth review for the NP8150 on my signature. I just stopped playing a 2 hour session of Pro Evolution Soccer 2011 and a 4 hour long game of Shogun 2 on Ultra settings. Max temp was 85C and average was about 70-80C. Palm rests are not even close to warm and isn't hot at all. Middle area of keyboard shows slight warmth, but nothing to worry about. |

QUOTE(jun6065168 @ Apr 16 2011, 02:04 PM) I'm interested in getting NP8150-S1 but i kinda have a tight budget ( <6k ) so.. 1) I do not think so, like carbonytte said, it is shifting towards online purchases and digital downloads.1. Are all Pc games gonna be in blue ray disk in the future? If so how soon? 2. Buying OS from sager. Cheap/ expensive? 3. 500gb with 4 GB SSD worth it? Thankyou. 2) Well, I personally think it's just average because there might be other sites that have discounts or sales in OSes. 3) I'm using this right now and it's a good drive if you have frequent programs opened; it learns your usage patterns and places your most frequent programs in the SSD while the rest stays at the 500GB 7200RPM area. In this case, my Windows 7, Firefox, Antivirus, Skype, Messenger will open as quick as an SSD but the rest will open as fast as a traditional 7200RPM drive. QUOTE(carbonytte @ Apr 16 2011, 02:36 PM) Currently, the Seagate Momentus XT sits at 5.9 WEI. It still counts as a harddrive not a solid state drive. |

Regarding the power supplies, laptops will need to take advantage of transforming the different voltages in different countries...because they essentially are still laptops regardless of which country is it from; you bring them everywhere around, so the charger will need to suit the environment

QUOTE(Triangels @ Apr 19 2011, 08:37 PM) hi guys ! has anybody ever tried costumizing a RAID options....i am confused to get RAID-0 or RAID-5 --- well RAID-1 is useless that use only one capcity of two HDD and copy files twice if im not mistaken....but anybody knows which one is better? how is RAID-0?? compare to 0 .... i head raid-0 options have high marks in windows experience also, not 5.9 anymore, should be around 7...since both can be use at same time... What are your uses for a RAID system? And what kind of drives are you looking at? e.g. Programming/Gaming/work, 2 HDDs or 2 SSDs etc. |

QUOTE(sweeann @ Apr 25 2011, 01:44 AM) Hi all, Yep I have the second type screen. It's very nice, and not regretting the purchase. However I got mine for USD90... From XoticPC, NP8150-S1 has this 2 type of Matte Screen .... 15.6” FHD 16:9 LED Backlit Wide screen (1920x1080) Super Clear Matte Type Screen ( + USD30 ) 15.6" FHD 16:9 "Matte Type" Super Clear Ultra Bright LED Anti-Glare Screen w/ 95% NTSC Color Gamut (1920x1080) (Add's 4-7 business days to build time) ( + USD190 ) From the pricing, I believe mucro and cubehub is offering the 1st type, but what is the main difference of both, especially what is better in the 2nd screen display that costs USD190 more? @ This is a Lamp, yours is the 2nd type display screen, right? QUOTE(ALeUNe @ Apr 25 2011, 01:28 AM) Just an update on the AHCI issue of OCZ Vertex 3, Nice! Glad you got it working.http://www.ocztechnologyforum.com/forum/sh...XPS-L702X/page2 Based on my observation, SATA3 SSD may have this issue. Those who have issue with AHCI mode, you may try this method to solve the issue. I managed to solve the issue by loading the Intel driver during the Win7 installation (aka "F6" for WinXP). It is working fine in AHCI mode so far. This post has been edited by This is a Lamp: Apr 25 2011, 01:34 AM |

Gaming with full performance on battery mode is possible...if you fiddle around with the battery profiles.

From user experiences, OriginPC isn't a bad reseller though. Just maybe their prices are a bit higher...

If you're still thinking of getting the Momentus XT, I can vouch that it is a good substitute if you need space and speed. But the noticeable difference only appears when you have frequent programs running (e.g. OS, Internet etc.), where the Momentus XT learns your usage patterns and caches these programs to the SSD.
On the other hand, it still won't be as fast as a full fledged SSD. This post has been edited by This is a Lamp: Apr 27 2011, 12:55 PM |
