Regular Senior Member 1,021 posts Joined: Aug 2006 From: Penang Island, Alor Star	the flash can't cope with the fast shutter speed u r using i think. what was ur shutter speed? is the shutter faster than 1/200-1/250th sec ? ...ur shutter was too fast and the light from ur flash didnt get enough time to go into ur sensor (improperly exposed). hence the black 'bar'.. check ur flash's spec for this info or trial and error on ur body of what works ...hehe » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « QUOTE(BenSow @ Feb 27 2011, 12:44 PM) I didnt use MF... used AF.. dont have macro lens ma >< not yet so 18-55 cant focus crisply in close distance? o.o Added on February 27, 2011, 12:53 pmoh and another thing.. i hooked up my dad's old vitacom flash unit onto my D3100... tried some shots but ended up with photos that has 3/4 part of it totally black... I used this flash unit on my camera before and it works fine but just now i used it keeps producing a black area at the bottom of the photos... can anyone explained why?
