QUOTE(alpha_company @ Feb 22 2011, 05:49 PM) Double the money man...and we're talking 5 figures. I don't want to play the waiting game. Plus.. the D700 replacement price will be more expensive. It won't be 6k & early shipments would probably be limited & need to order and wait some more. I buy is what I need... not so much as want. I make a living from taking pics. The D700 satisfies my need. Plus the D3s' only significant difference is the high ISO performance. For now I'm not taking wedding/event pics at ISO 12800. If only the D3s has higher megapixels like the 5DmkII, then I would be more inclined to buy the D3s because I do print out large sized media. The only reason I didn't go for the 5DmkII is because of the slow autofocus and not so durable/weather sealed body. 5d2's middle AF point is very reliable. Outer ain't that reliable. And I have shoot in rain, snow, and its still works like a charm.

QUOTE(celciuz @ Feb 22 2011, 07:02 PM) My friend whose a 5dmk2 user tells me otherwise. He usually take a few shots because to compensate for any miss focus. That could happen. Well in my experience, the middle AF is spot on sharp. But the outer points is not reliable n some times can be a pain in the proverbial backside

QUOTE(celciuz @ Feb 22 2011, 07:12 PM) By right all should be similar cause full cross sensor isn't it? I know for D700 the 15 in the middle is the fastest and most accurate. The sides will hunt at times if you don't get a pattern as it is not a cross type. Is it 16 or 15? I'm not sure about the exact amount on d700. Anyways, I find that 5d2's outer AF points hunts a lot in low light. And the center point is the most reliable. But to recompose using the mid point is abit pointless imo.

QUOTE(alpha_company @ Feb 23 2011, 03:42 AM) That's really bad for a DLSR that expensive. Guess canon isn't delighting you always.. For that, there's always Nikon.. Edward said it well..its vice versa. What Canon can offer NIKON can't, its goes the other way around.

QUOTE(hellsoldier33 @ Feb 23 2011, 05:43 AM) Guys, just a question. In the end, what the biggest difference that Nikon and Canon distinguish? I believe Nikon plays with contrast, but canon more pure and original. is that true? I think its the other way around

QUOTE(celciuz @ Feb 23 2011, 07:16 ) The 5Dmk2's infamous focus issue ma. Heck even the 1dmk3 has this issue too, situation improved in the 1dmk4. This is why the D3/D700 from Nikon manage to capture some of the FF share from Canon. Before this Canon dominating FF segment ma. And some very little issue on it doesn't make people won't buy it also. I've seen lots of nice images from the so-called-flawed 5d2. Well said bro celciuz.

@alpha_company Really? Once u go darkside you'll never go back? I own both the 5d2 and the d700 la bro. I still prefer canon For me the d700 is more of an allrounder. And the 5d2 for landscapes, macro works, and portraits. Well I'm not a pro like goldfries or ktcy, that's just me.

QUOTE(celciuz @ Feb 28 2011, 08:33 PM) The VR is ok. The AF is the issue, it doesn't AF at all. Checked the switch and everything still can't AF. Just now suddenly when I put to my body to check can focus. After a while without changing any settings can't focus. the worse could happen when u reach shop, then the af works infront of the guy

Honestly I know I want 11-16 tokina it just doesn't AF No I mean this body doesn't have AF you need to be picky when buying lens. personally, and again, i kinda like distortion and i also think that the G lenses looks better than the D ones so its a win win situation. u got a nice looking lens and also motor in the lens This post has been edited by Tony Stark: Mar 1 2011, 12:41 PM
