I don't want to play the waiting game. Plus.. the D700 replacement price will be more expensive. It won't be 6k & early shipments would probably be limited & need to order and wait some more.

I buy is what I need... not so much as want. I make a living from taking pics. The D700 satisfies my need. Plus the D3s' only significant difference is the high ISO performance. For now I'm not taking wedding/event pics at ISO 12800.

If only the D3s has higher megapixels like the 5DmkII, then I would be more inclined to buy the D3s because I do print out large sized media. The only reason I didn't go for the 5DmkII is because of the slow autofocus and not so durable/weather sealed body.

My friend whose a 5dmk2 user tells me otherwise. He usually take a few shots because to compensate for any miss focus.

By right all should be similar cause full cross sensor isn't it? I know for D700 the 15 in the middle is the fastest and most accurate. The sides will hunt at times if you don't get a pattern as it is not a cross type.

That's really bad for a DLSR that expensive. Guess canon isn't delighting you always..

For that, there's always Nikon..

I believe Nikon plays with contrast, but canon more pure and original. is that true?

The 5Dmk2's infamous focus issue ma. Heck even the 1dmk3 has this issue too, situation improved in the 1dmk4.

This is why the D3/D700 from Nikon manage to capture some of the FF share from Canon. Before this Canon dominating FF segment ma.

The VR is ok. The AF is the issue, it doesn't AF at all. Checked the switch and everything still can't AF. Just now suddenly when I put to my body to check can focus. After a while without changing any settings can't focus.

yeah.. I do understand that. but again with this body I can't get what I want

No I mean this body doesn't have AF you need to be picky when buying lens.
