As we always seen and do in garage sale, Selling of second hand device to another user.
Always you see:
1. Warranty card Unfilled
2. SIS Warranty still on until XXX

But You show know:
1. Is the unfilled warranty card equal to no user registered?

According to SIS:
QUOTE
Warranty Policy:
1) Please retain your receipt as proof of purchase. HTC will consider your warranty to have stated on the date of purchase as indicated on your receipt.
2) If you have misplaced your receipt, HTC will consider the warranty coverage to have started based on the date your device was shipped from the factory.

2. How to verify is the product is genuine, beside sticker on the device?
QUOTE(Link to)

3. After buying a second hand product, what should I do, for claim warranty sake?
QUOTE
Buyer and Seller Need to Do this to transfer the Owner ship:
1. Fill the detail of both party and signed with device detail filled.
Attached File  Transfer_Owner_Form.pdf ( 23.94k ) Number of downloads: 3331

2. Contact SIS Warranty
Any inquiry contact  1300-22-3322 or warranty@sisdistribution.com.my
you can Eventually email to them buy using their website designed templete.

Click to SIS website:email Customer Service
They will email you and call you back smile.gif
4. Fax or email them back:
QUOTE
Remit Forms To :     Email : warranty@sisdistribution.com.my
Fax : 03 55692745

The seller may transfer his/her registration to the buyer of device
by email or fax in the following two items:

from wat i know,SIS only provide 1 year waranty,if u want to add another year u hv to pay extra. and for the next buyer to enjoy the extended waranty the seller need to transfer the ownership to him.

this is serious topic as most buyer will change phone after 1 year or less and after the seller sold his phone and the buyer hv problem with it n took it back to claim waranty bt was rejected bcos the original buyer didnt transfer the ownership then its bye bye to ur waranty. if the seller still can be contacted then its ok provided he's willing to go thru the hassle bt if the seller change his number then its bye bye. who's making the profit and who's the idiot here?

great info, its actually true.
not to just HTC but other phones as well.
seller usually state "warranty card unfilled"
this confused buyer, as it is like saying
that the phone actually have warranty.
even if it doesn't have warranty anymore.

I usually never fill up the 2nd warranty card.

The OP retailers will help you to do the 2nd year warranty.

The warranty card should've been filled at the shop.

To be safe, ask for receipt for OP sets.

SIS is provided 1year warranty but if u complete register online at sis website and email back them with the receipt then it will provided you another 1year warranty mean total 2year warranty from SIS
but do remember fill-in the warranty card completely and post back to SIS within 7day

I have a question. If I were to purchase a brand new , never opened original SIS HTC phone from a LYN forum-er how would I claim a receipt from him ? There are people selling SIS sets from 1.7 (LYN forum) to 2 K (the latter being Seng Heng electronics) So I'm slightly concerned . Please help !

I still don't understand the part about the unfilled warranty card.
A seller i approached said he didn't fill the warranty card. So does that mean there's no warranty at all?

Or your answer mean if you have receipt you don't need warranty card?
The answer in the first post is confusing...

SIS don't really want to know where you bought the set from. So if you really can't provide the seller's info, LowYat is just fine. As long as your IMEI checks out fine, they'd honour their 1+1 warranty. wink.gif

from my experience, the warranty transfer is not that important.

just send in the phone, they scan the barcode to verify the warranty. if still within warranty period, they will accept the phone for repair.

AFAIK, no receipt means no warranty. HTC Facebook Malaysia says need receipt to claim warranty.

Now, my question is also similar to yours. Let's say we have receipt and the seller says 2 years HTC warranty - how do we know it's 2 years or 1 year?

im going to buy new set HTC sensation Xe this evening. What should i check wether it is AP or ORI set?

It stated there, ORI set. They also provide SIS warranty. But suddenly at Digital Mall, there's a seller told me that they can simply change the phone from AP to ORI. Im Confuse and really scare to buy. I need ORI phone -.-!

hey! how do you classfied the warranty card as un fill? yesterday i bought a 2nd sensation XE and the warranty card half already send to the dealer, and the reply card is with me. But then the reply card was un fil. is that consider unfil warranty card?
Cause i check register online, u dont need to fill any names on it. so asking whether is it consider fill or unfil?

Yes you do. As long as u have succesfully online reguster your waranty should be fine. You will get 2 yrs warranty.
The issue is just the starting date of warranty. If you can provide the original receipt to them during the warranty claim, your waranty started form the date of purchase on the receipt. But if you dont have the receipt, your waranty started from the date they ship out the phone from the factory, which will be earlier buy months. In other words, shorter waranty period. This happened to me now, my htc is in sis for waranty. Bought the phone in Oct 2011. but since i lost the receipt, warranty started on 1st June 2011. Luckily i have registered online for the 1+1 waranty. So now my phone is still covered till 1st June 2013 (not Oct 2013 as expected).

Hi. Recently i just emailed SiS customer care twice, but sadly no reply to date. vmad.gif
Bad customer service I think for being a reputable company.

Anyhow, I would like to check my remaining warranty. Since there is no link available at the website and useless online customer service, is there any other option other than phone call?

I have bought a used HTC One X, and I called to SIS last week and asked is it need to change ownership to continue the warranty, but the answer is no need. So I don't know whether need to change or not, very confusing.

I have just contacted SiS earlier today and the answer is yes, you will need to fill up the transfer of ownership form and attach together with the original receipt. To be on the safe side, better to just do it.

However, for units bought from SenQ, automatically, you will enjoy 2 years warranty from SenQ and you have to go through them to claim warranty after the expiration of the 1st year.

I tried to register warranty for my HTC One V which I bought 3 months ago from Digi. But the registration page can't load until I use "https://". And this page doesn't have a "Next" or "Proceed" button, after I fill in the required field I don't know what to do. There's no scroll bar for me to scroll down too. Help! hmm.gif

Huh, just now I nearly made a transaction. I insist to look-up the imei & serial and I found out that "he's" only a third party guy.

In the forum he says all in package and I found out that he's using a "third-party" charger, with a merely 2 gb nokia micro SD no box or documentations.

I checked the owner is *an ***if (name cannot reveal here!!) and when I asked the seller he bought it from a trader in here.

I dunno if the story real or not?

As we always seen and do in garage sale, Selling of second hand device to another user.
Always you see:
1. Warranty card Unfilled
2. SIS Warranty still on until XXX

But You show know:
1. Is the unfilled warranty card equal to no user registered?

According to SIS:

2. How to verify is the product is genuine, beside sticker on the device?

4.  Fax or email them back:

The only way to check ur imei is call to their centre or email to them...

This year i called them once and they verbally confirmed that 1 + 1 is no more valid with sis start from this year.

I have experience bring my friend phone to warranty without receipt and that phone not under my nameand no issue until get the whole htc one x replacement set.

Maybe you can say is my luck but i just think this thread is outdated in terms of info wise.

Take a phone to htc for warranty is just the same when u take ur samsung phone for warranty.

The differentis how u check your warranty and if you dont have the receipt they will remark your set warranty start from the shipping date/purchase date as they said. (But is quite confusing though).

Anyway if anyone buying a 2nd hand set jut call to htc customer service..you get everything you wany and send an email for black n white proof.

I just called also, they said only 1 year SIS warranty, no more 2 years starting from May 2013! But when I asked where is the notice to customer & all, they unable to provide, no black & white notice! On my device sticker, it says "Please register within 7 days from date of purchase to enjoy 1+1 year Extended Warranty".

So fishy...
