my quick NEO review

actually wanted to buy xperia mini pro, but changed my mind after testing neo

1) very light on the hands
2) feels quite solid
3) very nice camera
4) everything runs smooth and starts quick
5) the UI is very intuitive for someone like me who hasn't touched android before
6) beautiful screen

i just had this for few hours, I understand the battery life is average for a smartphone. but all in all, the best deal out there. calendar doesnt seem to be able to be synced to google calendar though

not sure how to sync hehe. much to learn. mine is blue lor . from review videos, it looks ugly, but once i switch it on and held it at the shop, i was wowed

and now can buy gsc tickets

warning, please turn off flash if you want to take a self portrait using the main camera. ****headache****

xperia calendar :

cannot repeat event by custom X Days
cannot repeat fortnightly

those 2 are available in symbian for centuries

im very impressed with the camera !

the image stabilizer really works especially well for night shots

shark7, ARC might have a better camera for extra few hundred ringgit. but Neo to me is good enough. Now I don't have any problem taking night shots. I'm confident enough to use this as my travel camera

pc companion says my 2.3.3 is latest
updating from phone also said the same thing

if u get lousier pic compared to galaxy S2 or other HTC phones, meaning you are setting it wrong. the Neo's camera and sensor is one of the best out there

i just installed the lastest update using WotanServer.

there's 2 version for latest, one is nordic another one is baltic

now my neo has sweep panorama, screenshot, etc... etc.. !!!

awesome ! and no TELSTRA crapware

my setting -

capturing mode normal
resolution 16:9 6MP
image stabiliser ON
focus mode - multi
flash off, usually, i let the exmor sensor do the job
scenes, day time i mostly use landscape/or beach/snow
nighttime, i always use night scene, whether its portrait or not

recorded a video yesterday, quite impressed with the audio recording

yeah jeopardise, and at around RM1K, it's a good deal ! won't feel guilty if change phone every 2 years

i thought neo V is exactly the same except it comes with 5MP sensor

the latest official ROM has very little bloatware. i check battery use, only few running apps/services. nice

i used Wotanserver software to debrand & update it to official 2.3.4 . no need to root or other difficult process

1) go to this site http://www.wotanserver.com/en/sony-ericsso...ebranding-flash


2) scroll to the bottom , and u will see 2 links

USB Flash Driver
WotanClient 3

3) download both, install usb driver. then run the wotan client and follow the step-by-step instructions.

4) for neo, I chose 2.3.4 (BALTIC) (ENGLISH)

5) restart first time it froze, restarted 2nd time, its done

i don't see any good reason to root my phone

u guys should be just happy official rom without root

awan_kelabu, u didn't root it right? never got that problem before. perhaps defective microSD card? have u updated to the latest official rom ?
