anyone with silver PRO?

Bought 2 red Pro from Gardens. Into my 4th days today. My complaint would be battery life! It's crazy compare to all my previous phone - WinMobile 6 PDA, Nokia E71, HTC Wildfire S (Android 2.2).

My Pros are fully charged at incredibly speed - 1 hour or less. And equally shocking battery draining rate. I was required to charge it like 3 times a day at light usage (no game/video/music). Then switch off data traffic when I'm idle (sleep/cinema etc)

Any tips on battery saving? Or is my unit abnormal? I'm new to Sony Ericsson Android/Timescape.

I've turned off Bravia engine, brightness control at lowest. TimeScape sync off.

Yes NEO come with USB-OTG feature. U need to update to the latest firmware .368 or .42 to enjoy it.

I am a Neo user and sometimes using a wireless keyboard with it. However it doesnt support USB mass storage officially.

bro, data traffic enable drains plenty battery...my friend's NEO can last only 12 hours with data traffic enable whole time. my PRO last 2 days MINIMUM without data traffic but on and off wifi applications.

mana u found? coz PRO got sliding keyboard, if the casing very lousy it will slip off everytime we slide open the keyboard. this is what i encounter with my previous x10i mini pro..

ROOT GUIDE FOR XPERIA PRO (MK16i)
- compiled by siuyi - tested and certified usable on a THORUS set.

1) Download this zip (xperia-pro-root-recovery.zip - 11MB):

2) Extract the zip to desktop and name it 'xperia-root-recovery'.

3) Open the folder and copy the file 'RootXperia.zip' to your phone's SD card, create a folder named 'downloads' and paste it there.
WARNING!! YOUR XPERIA PRO WILL BE FLASHED THOROUGHLY LIKE A NEW UNIT ONCE ROOTED. BACKUP ALL INFO FROM YOUR UNIT INTO YOUR SDCARD OR PC TO AVOID UNWANTED CASES!!

4) Put the phone into fastboot mode:

i) Power off the phone and make sure it’s not plugged into anything.

ii) Hold down the MENU button and connect the USB cable. A blue light will appear at the notification led.
**If a blue light does NOT appear, then your phone can't get into FastBoot, and probably still has the bootloader locked. You can also try a different USB port on the computer, and even a different USB cable.

5) Double click the dos batch file 'Root-Xperia-PRO.bat' in the 'xperia-root-recovery' folder on your desktop.

6) A dos window will open temporarily for a few seconds, and close. you might not even see it it's so fast. Wait for around 3-5 seconds.

7) Look at your phone's screen. You should have an orange colored recovery menu, which is the CWM-based Recovery v4.0.1.4 application running.
**Slide open the keyboard: The up and down buttons move the selection up and down. the Enter button selects something. the BACK button goes back.

8) Select 'install zip from sdcard' > 'choose a zip drom sdcard' > 'downloads' > 'RootXperia.zip' > 'Yes - Install RootXperia.zip'

9) Wait the flashing to complete, go back to the main screen, select 'wipe data/factory reset' and 'wipe cache partition', in 'advanced', select 'wipe Dalvik Cache' and 'wipe battery stats' , and return to main menu, select 'reboot system now'.

Done, your Xperia Pro had been rooted.    Mind that the restart will take longer than normal.

Add-on: To load CWM-based recovery app, currently i still cannot get any shortcut keys to load the app during startup. The only way to load CWM is still via fastboot mode, which requires the pc and usb connection.

Install/uninstall apps as I want - Free some space and RAM, better performance or battery life. Remove junk apps

Access to hardware control - Key re-mapping, CPU overclocking

Unlocks new features - install drivers, supports extra capabilities such as USB-OTG, AP mode, enhance camera etc

Accessibilities - For Neo/Arc no need widget to enable/disable BT/Wifi. Just slide statusbar and press shortcut you want. There's reboot option too with recovery! Using widget for shortcut just waste of RAM.

Change UI - Transparent status bar?

... a bit more like i can create the phone like i want

2- Upon unlocking bootloader and rooting your MK16i, if you tend to update your unit via pc companion under 'Support Zone', you WILL brick your phone.

currently my ROM is stock-based kernal with recovery, but no shortcut to recovery mode. and i wanna flash it to stock-based kernel with recovery and with shortcut to recovery mode.

do i need to revert back to the stock kernel or just extract the .zip in recovery mode to unload the .img? <--will it brick my hp?

also, i did some readings. to avoid bricking PRO during automatic update via FOTA (firmware on the air) using pc companion, u can refer to http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...post&p=47912565 under Add-on (2). I made some changes on that already and will try it out by tonight.

Why recovery so important to you 

Once I rooted,
-I optimize the apps - remove dublicates in /data/apps to /system/apps
-remove junks/wallpapers/widgets/services that i didn't use
-mod the status bar/battery/power menu
-v6 supercharger HARD TO KILL! (I bet you'll love how responsive ur Pro upon installing this)

After all that, I still have almost 250MB free space with apps from market that i need. After games, still have 200MB free. (I play SFIV, Real Racing 2, Angry Birds, AirAttack and Genesis emulator only)

320MB of RAM quite limited. I hate when my game FC

normally i root it with recovery along. so that i can do a safe point like what i told jeopardize before this. with rooted unit, u can venture into stuff and apps which requires rootings, such as recovery. and stuff like scripts and apps which merges widget into the system. rooting is like alter the system security so that u can rewrite the orders and merge stuff together at the same time recreate a better platform for ur unit (which maybe save memory or RAM if u know how to).
