QUOTE(Hico @ Sep 17 2011, 11:48 AM) LOL ...... Coz everyone is into Evo 3D not LG 3D .... Find it better than Evo as no glasses is neededoh ya , on a side note , CM7 is out http://rootzwiki.com/showthread.php?5701-A...1-for-Optimus3D For good battery life Have to go custom rom , 2 many bloatwares in standard rom Added on September 19, 2011, 9:38 am QUOTE(C-Note @ Sep 14 2011, 12:12 PM) Got it for around 1800 my place here. 1.5 years warranty from hk. Anythg just mail back foc. Like all Android , part of it is used for the phone's system , etc ..... U dont get 8G full . Even SGSII got around 14G when its stated as 16GId say its not as snappy as the s2. U can definitely see it think when initiating apps or switching between homescreens. But overall its a decent performer. The 3D looks really good but eyes can get tired after prolonged usage. One thg, the specs say it has 8gb internal memory but what u really get is only about 3.9gb of free space This post has been edited by Noobi3: Sep 19 2011, 09:38 AM |

QUOTE(zack_jr @ Sep 24 2011, 09:09 AM) What do the dual channel and dual memory actually means? Sorry for this noob question heheh Dual-channel architecture requires a dual-channel-capable motherboard and two or more DDR, DDR2 SDRAM, or DDR3 SDRAM memory modules. The memory modules are installed into matching banks, which are usually color coded on the motherboard. These separate channels allow each memory module access to the memory controller, increasing throughput bandwidth. It is not required that identical modules be used, but this is often recommended for best dual-channel operation. It is possible to use a single-sided module of 512 MB[1] and a double-sided module of 512 MB in dual-channel configuration, but how fast and stable it is depends on the memory controller. If the motherboard has two pairs of differently colored DIMM sockets (the colors indicate which bank they belong to, bank 0 or bank 1), then one can place a matched pair of memory modules in bank 0, but a different-capacity pair of modules in bank 1, as long as they are of the same speed. Using this scheme, a pair of 1 GB memory modules in bank 0 and a pair of matched 512 MB modules in bank 1 would be acceptable for dual-channel operation.[2] Modules rated at different speeds can be run in dual-channel mode, although the motherboard will then run all memory modules at the speed of the slowest module. Some motherboards, however, have compatibility issues with certain brands or models of memory when attempting to use them in dual-channel mode. For this reason, it is generally advised to use identical pairs of memory modules, which is why most memory manufacturers now sell "kits" of matched-pair DIMMs. Several motherboard manufacturers only support configurations where a "matched pair" of modules are used. |

QUOTE(C-Note @ Oct 18 2011, 12:59 AM) erm actually im still using official ROM. Random reboot as in it reboots randomly from time to time. Can get quite annoying. Heard its pretty common on the Optimus 2x, no? Like I mentioned previously , which rom are u on ? v10d ? v10e ? Some versions like v10j are known for their issues of random reboot . If its not a known problem for the rom , means some of the apps u installed are giving u random reboot ....Anyway, im new to this rooting business in android. Most custom ROMs are on 2.3 Gingerbread right? I just flashed clockwork mod recovery. What should I do next? What exactly is a nandroid backup? How do i know which ROM is compatible since my official one is still on 2.2.2? Sadly , NONE of the custom roms are on 2.3 , all are based on official release with most of the apps removed , ram optimized , etc ...... A nandroid backup is what u do to backup your whole standard rom now just in case u wanna go back to stock rom which is in your case |

QUOTE(C-Note @ Oct 18 2011, 10:15 AM) oh i think i get it now hehe. thanks for the explanations Custom kernel was initially made for 10j , getting rid of the random reboot and also xtra tweak to the kernel such as better batt life , better performance , etc ....... No sure if 10k got the random reboot issue .erm i was downloading the king_3D_ROM v2.1 original kernel...whats the diff between original kernel and the other one? v2.1 is an improvement for v2.0 yet i dun really use king_3D . Dun like the way he do his rom , he is 2 full of himself with his name practically everywhere on the phone . If u like stock kernel , I still feel Thaiz is a better rom than his with better batt life and performance . Just in case u wanna try custom kernel , just flash the kernel over Last reminder , DONT use Titanium Backup to restore your data , just your apps alone as it will crash the system , giving FC and random reboot ...... Cheers |

QUOTE(C-Note @ Oct 18 2011, 09:02 PM) thanks for the info! that's really helpful a kernel can be downloaded on its own later on to flash but unless u know how to flash back original kernel , extracted from the zip file , u cant go back to original kernel unless u re-flash the whole rom again ....A kernel has to be flashed separately? not included in the ROM package? so you reckon i should use back the stock kernel? ohhh one last thing, everytime i flash a new ROM, everything must be wiped first? messages..photos..etc? no way of restoring everything without restoring the stock ROM? thanks! Try stock kernel , see how it goes 4 u ..... Besides , custom kernel for O3D is not very good yet unlike the rest due to lack of kernel developers Yes , a complete wipe its a MUST .... 3 wipes which is data/factory reset , wipe cache and wipe dalvik cache which u can find in your CWM menu ..... For messages , u can download " MyBackUP " apps from market to save your sms or an easier way is to download " SMSBackup+ " , sync it to your gmail and all your sms is stored there . After u backup , just redownload your the apps and restore it back MyBackup is also used to store apps which u installed in your current rom which u can restore later on . However , its advisable to restore only your apps , not apps + data which might crash the new rom . In other words , u lose all the 3 stars in your Angry Bird n have to start again from zero Photos , Movies , Songs wouldnt be deleted unless u do a wipe of your sd card manually as those are stored in your internal memory card or even your external card |
