Dear all,

We are glad to announce that our distributors have received the shipment of new Sandy Bridge B3 motherboard. The early shipment is due to a favor from Intel by allocating some B3 chipset to us earlier that predicted. Thus as per the initial plan for the shipment to reach our shore on April 2011, the SATA card shipment couldn't make it to Malaysia. This is due to pre-allocation of the SATA card couldn't be allocated to the Multimedia Production Line.

Therefore, MSI customer who is anticipating for our MSI Malaysia Sandy Bridge Swapping Program, we regret to announce that there is a glitch on the SATA card redemption process. Therefore we provide the 3 options as below:
1) Swap new B3 motherboard first and we will courier out the SATA card by PosLaju to end user once we get hold of the stock of SATA Card.
2) Swap new B3 motherboard first. Then drop by to MSI Malaysia Office once again to collect the SATA Card upon stock arrival.
3) Swap new B3 motherboard and the SATA Card together in April 2011 once we get hold of the stock of SATA Card.

However for all the options above, please do take note that end user are required to call MSI Malaysia at 1300-22-1986 two working days before dropping by to our office to ease the allocation process.

Lastly, we would like to apologise to all MSI Sandy Bridge users for the inconvenience caused due to the early shipment of the new B3 mainboard.

Thank you.

MSI_MY, I asked lingloong(a retailer for MSI boards here) about the replacement procedure and he told me that the distributors require the defective board to reach them first to swap, then turn-over 1 week because need to check everything is ok then could swap.

If this is the case, does it mean we'll have to wait a week to get the replacement board? sad.gif

Dear Zakov,
If you are around Klang Valley, I would advise you would be able to drop by our office. Feel free to drop us a call 1st.
But for the time being, the SATA 6Gbps card is not here yet. ETA should be around April. You can opt to wait for it until the SATA card is here then only proceed for the swap.
Thank you.

IMO 1 week is reasonable if not these sellers have to go to MSI HQ everyday for swapping which is quite tiring for them. I think distro should provide a pickup truck at some hotspots for collection daily etc.. Pity those sellers.

The way I see it, we're not returning the boards like a typical RMA process so it should be a straight swap.

We're sending it in because of the design flaw not because of an after sales problem(lightning, user fault) so this case should be treated similar to a DOA case in my opinion.

Of course its not anyone's fault but Intel's.

The PC is just for casual use (internet 99.9% most of the time) and non gaming, so just get the H67-E45 one(confirmed got B3 stepping sticker). Price, as listed by their website which is RM389. didn't check for P67 chipset one.

Buying below item for my setup (others like DVD drive just take a used one)
- Casing CM Elite 371 (apparently it is with side transparent), I was going for without ST after check in website and the pricelist. Anyway, can live with it
- CPU iCore5 2400
- Mobo MSI H67-E45(buy new - so no free Sata, which is for exchange)
- WD 1T Cavier Blue (Sata3)
- 2 X 4G RAM
- CM TX3
- PSU 460w

No graphic card, so far happy with the integrated one in CPU. nod.gif

Got it from Perai branch, available since Tuesday, I also see other brand.
