assalamualaikum/hi

I'm thinking of cementing a part of my lawn (about 15x10 feet) which currently is covered by carpet & wild grass. I have few options in my mind. By the way I'm thinking of DIY

1) Dig the grasses out, and just lay cements on the soil... my questions is what's the best way and mixture to do this?
2) Dig the grasses out, lay bricks (I don't know that to call those bricks.. they're the one which have curvy edges.. you can see on sidewalks etc.. btw anyone knows how much this brick's price apiece?) on the soil and just cement on the outer side of these "assembled bricks" to hold them together on the soild..

which one is better?

thanks in advance

just out of curiousity, why would u wan to cover up the soil?

it's great to absorb the heat of the land, i would never cover it up.

if not becoz of lack of space to park extra car i would leave the lawn alone..

there's a small pond at the place where I'd like to cover the soil; the real reason I'd like to cover the soil is because
1) my house is corner lot. can't find the time to maintain the whole land myself.. I mean in terms of keeping it clean and so-on
2) there's a freaking lot of caterpillars (the yellow-black one), especially at the soil around the pond. these caterpillars love it there because of the water.. so I wan't to cover it with cements/stones to kick these caterpillars out of my pond

so.. any advice on my previous question?
