Hi, wonder anyone here is in the buying mode to grab a new TV soon.. I'm in the hunting mode now for : 1. One 47" LED LG5500/7500 or Plasma (has to be Pana's 50" V20 since pana doesn't have 46 or 47"..) for living area.. Budget : sub 5K 2. One 32" or 36'/37' for bedroom. LED or LCD or even plasma won't matter. Best bang for the buck , that's it. Budget : Sub 1.4K If we could pool together with a consensus on brand/model we would be able to bargain hard then.. I remember seeing someone here posted about getting his 2 sets of 47" LG7500 for $4500 each!? That's where I'm coming from..to group together a few buyers and nego a better price. btw..i'm living in PJ/Damansara area.. Hope to see someone with a similar buying mode here..

QUOTE(s@ni @ Feb 14 2011, 02:04 PM) wants to buy 32" lcd that can play usb movie A Lot of them can do...ie. Sony , panna , could play .mpeg, .avi, etc. (the most common). Wherease, sammy, or LG could play .mkv (but may not have sound if it is a dts)..etc. I can see some complaints(or comments!) saying certain file format is not supported by xx brands... So, IMO to avoid such problem we should aim to buy a media player to solve the problem instead of looking for a TV that plays movies without any hiccup..

Hi, I think we're on the same boat. I'm caught between getting a Samsung 46"/LG 47" LED tv or 50" latest plasma tv with usb 2.0. Well I think it's wise to go for LED since that is the trend now although that means you need to spend extra RM1500 rather than a 50" plasma that cost around RM3500-RM4000.

So we are talking about fashion shows now? If picture quality is your concern, you should really have a look at Plasma at cheaper price. But of course if you are into fashion, yes, LED is the most fashionable one now.

But of course if you are into fashion, yes, LED is the most fashionable one now. Of course by logic I'm not talking fashion shows. It's a technology trend my friend! How come if I want quality, I should go for Plasma? Plasma tv is a good buy because of it's price tag and bigger panel size like those 50". LED is the trend now because it is slim, not bulky and also it offered more clarity to the picture quality itself. It also included more friendly functions. The only thing is that it's price but I guessed what you paid for is what you get......
