My younger brother has been sleeping together with my mum and dad on the same bed until last year. He has just turned 13 years old and starting to sleep on his own.

QUOTE(phythia79 @ Feb 14 2011, 11:22 AM) oooo...really ar? hmmm....qarezma & ijnek..what do you say on this? LOL! We all have been encouraging him to sleep by himself but he was 'too afraid of the dark' and all sorts.munkeyflo..why suddenly sleep on his own liao?kekekekeke.. My parents even put another single bed in their masterbed room cause obviously he's growing bigger and can't fit all three of them on the bed. So for the first few days he slept on the other single bed by himself. But soon, he climb over to my parents' bed in the middle of the night. So after a few months, it became my dad who was sleeping on the single bed and my mum and my brother on the other bigger bed. I guess he's starting to grow bigger and realise he needs to sleep on his own? lol. For me, I still sleep with my parents in the same room, but on the floor until I reach 5 years old. Then I started sleeping in my own room till now. I wouldn't want my child to cling onto me at night until he reaches 13 years old. |

QUOTE(qarezma @ Feb 14 2011, 01:02 PM) munkeyflo - maybe something with the upbringing, are the parents the type to encourage the boy to be on his own, or always very protective? Haha I guess so to. Cause he's the youngest and only son in the family. He's kinda spoiled and everything also scared this scared that. Also very conscious of himself being embarrassed, very timid, not adventurous and stuff.nicKit - i gave pacifier to my baby last time becos he used me as one. After that he cannot sleep without pacifier till he was 1yo... but right before his first bday, i weaned him off! so proud of that I assume my parents brought me up the same way as they brought him up but dunno why he's like totally opposite of me. lol. |

QUOTE(Joey Christensen @ Feb 15 2011, 02:57 PM) Wookie, that's a bit freaky for me to hear. 13 years of age and only started to sleep on his own? WOW! Is there any special reason behind this? Erm, don't think there's any special reason other than his personality which is very timid and afraid of almost everything. Shy, not adventurous, stuff like that..Regards, Joey |
