just wondering which music/song suitable for amplifier & speaker audition which adequate in term of bass & treble... preferably the music/song with dobly 5.1 surround and good in 2.1 stereo... please recommend...

anyway, style la5er used a disc for audition with concert's surround, i can heard the audiences' appalaus clearly from the surround speaker but the singer's voice from front speaker, can felt that i sitting at VIP seat at the concert, anyone know what is the song/album/artist name which used by style la5er? i'm looking for it too...

Best is to bring along your own cd / bd that you are familiar with its soundtrack. Then only u can judge ma...

shame to say that i only have normal CD music and dont have such source with 5.1 surround yet...
just like pumped RON95 into ferrari... so no point to use "so-so" music to judge a good system...

look alike 70s 80s music as can see black & white picture of the artist... worrying enjoy till slept...

preferably newer song with dobly and can enjoy the quality at the same time, such as used by style la5er when audition, but i cant recall what is the song name...

You are mistaken.

Regardless of what age or years, musical notes don't change. For example, a Magpie bird today will still sound like a Magpie bird that exist a 100 years ago. A Stradivarius violin today should still sounded like a Stradivarius violin of 50 years ago.

This CD is primarily educational teaching you what does Bass/Timbre/Depth/Midrange/Naturalness/stereo imaging etc are supposed to sound or feel like. How do you know a audio equipment is reproducing the bass of a drum correctly when you don't even know what real drum are supposed to sound like? And if you don't even know what is Stereo Depth or Image or Transparency, how do you know that amplifier is producing it or not? For newbies who are serious about music reproduction, this is one of the best CD there is. My 2 sen.

i understood what ur means... i also can found some good quality music disc too which designed for AV setup and can buy from some of the audio shops... but there have quite numerous of disc, quite impossible to buy all the disc and cost a bomb... that why required for some recommendation to shortlist...

I have heard quite a few demonstration disc before but this one is the best. While the songs may not be to your taste, it is certainly the most educational because it actually teach you all about audio reproduction and things to look out for. For example, before teaching you what is Transparency, there will be a male voice explaining to you what it is Transparency and what does it sounded like and then play a particular music that illustrate Transparency well. To allow you to experience Transparency.

sound like drug, we may end up for higher setup if experienced insufficient of audio...
