hi guys I just joined wow tw

I'm testing out multiple classes cause I can't find one that suits me :/
so was wondering how you guys match your toons

you're not giving people much to start with, ie;
how bout state your preference horde or alliance?
then how bout state if you reckon you'd rather be a tank, healer, or dps?
if dps, do you reckon you'd rather be melee or safely far away as ranged?

you should really put some minimal effort to get the ball rolling on such a discussion, as the initial post is too vague and open-ended.

with regards to class/race matching, it will depend if you want to take advantage of the racials of said classes or not. some races have racials that benefit pvp, some benefit pve etc

I like dealing dmg
and ill be sticking at alliance.
Im not sure of range or melee yet though :|

play a paladin and go retribution and make sure you yell

I only can tell you that, there's no 100% (perfection) in WoW, every tree has its own benefit, you have to go and research it, or at least take a look at mmo-champion.com or elitistjerks.com for more info.

Except it doesn't work anymore. Divine Shield is 8 seconds now amirite?

Added on February 13, 2011, 11:50 pmContrary to popular belief, for hunters there IS a god mode tree.

Beast Mastery for leveling, Marksmanship when at level cap. Possibly Survival for PvP because its burst damage and the extra DoT is still viable over Marksmanship's proc based core ability. WHU didn't update their guides for 4.0.6, though.

Paladin is always good, can dps, can heal, and tank.

HumanPaladin seems good.

There is no "good" or "the best" race for any class, or vice versa. Racial traits are nice and situational, never essential must-haves. My advice:

1) Pick a class
2) Pick a race you think will look good to you

1) Pick a class
2) Pick a race (see which traits give you best , for instance humans the extra 5% spirit boost is good , especially for healers)
3) Play


If you wanna dps , you need to know how to dps. Good luck in dungeon queues , unless you have friends . Tanks get instant queue btw

I'm not really a min-maxer, normally I would go for looks and traits when choosing a race.

Blood Elves are the most appealing for me when it comes to looks. In addition, they are often misunderstood, something which I share in common.

Come to think of it, ever since I made the jump from alliance to horde, every single incarnation of my characters have been Blood Elves.

Blood Elves is sexeh! Same goes as Draenei which i playing right now

Man-maxing is FTL, raiding guilds that min-max expect you to fork over the money for a race change just to get that extra... what... 500 DPS? 1000?

500 dps loss = 30000 dps loss per minutes
if boss enrage in 5 min = 150,000 health lost

The FOM now is mage so every new toon should be mage and the best class for mage is gnome. why?

1) they are cute
2) they got int puff which is +5% mana / crit / sp
3) they good in pvp because they are small and hard to click and they can escape
4) they are cute
5) you'll have the upmost satisfaction to beat a horde warrior in pve and sit on their face.
6) did i mention they are really cute?

Pally is OP for tooooo freaking long aready my financial adviser said to invest somewhere else...

Blood Elf racials are the least polished. They have the least number of racial abilities, currently 3 (an aoe silence, +10 to Enchanting & magic resistance).

Would be great if they could give us another passive ability. Something that restores X% mana/energy/focus/runic power every spell cast.

I agree with gnome being cute, and there are one of the best in Alliance pvp.

However, mage is suffering major problem in PVE and i dont see why u mentioned FOM is a mage. DK is FOM

And the pally comment is freaking true. hahahah

Real men kill Maloriak 5 minutes into the berserk timer because we don't min-max.

Are you focused on PVE or PVP

Anyway , human priest is awesome cause the human spirit gives additional spirit which is awesome when it comes to rogues cause spirit increases their health regen by 500% priests , the 5% bonus is kinda neat

Night Elf - The hide ability is cool , if you aggro or something , bam hide...Its pretty cool too

Are you going to play disc or holy priest - for healing that is. You'll have to determine your healing style. I prefer disc for pvp and holy for pve but then I'll just switch

You may want to take a look at my talent build , I am not the 1337 priest , but holy priest matches my style

Lightwell is handy to help you in heals , but then not many people do use

Chakra thingy is useful , if you cast direct heal + renew , with chakra turned on , bam you renew "renew" on the target. So far I've to say holy priest is the best

With the bonus mana regen from spirit in combat is a big deal

Of course you may want to spend few points on shadow talent , the reason why i choose improved inner fire is that well the reduced spell dmg can come very handy

My so-called pvp disc spec is not fine tuned, i'll respec it later on to tune on pvp

i bought the crappy blue pvp set from ah but cant win a single 2v2

on the other hand when my mage hit 85, he won 2v2s easily with worse gear

You wanna heal or do tons of damage , even holy can go pvp if you know how to play. Lightwell is a valuable asset , pop hots , run around

Whatever , people may say a lot of things. Just pick a race an just start playing. I played female blood elf , cause healers are soft , thats why...my dk and rest of my characters are males

since paladin only available for Blood Elf during TBC. so i'm a retadin

I used to play WoW (quit about 5 months ago), but I loved the Worgen-Druid combo. It worked really well.

If you favor the Horde, try a Tauren-Druid. Druids are just awesome IMO and grant alot of prestige as they can be difficult to play.

u make me miss my tauren druid so much...started alliance side as worgen druid in taiwan wow, as u mention the worgen druid combo = rox!!!

The best ally priest for raids (pve) Dranei, even if you get board and want to dps as shadow dranei as their racial is pretty good.

For pvp, dwarf and human , human for the free trinket and dwarf for the 10 percent armor and bleed/poison remove.

Added on June 7, 2011, 11:51 amMaybe in Pve.. but in pvp mages are the FOM the same with hunters and dk's. Why? Because there are not many classes that can take out a mage with their multiple escape and snares and awesome damage. If anyone was to argue that mages are week, they need a slap..

The same for resto shaman, they do very badly in pve but are god mode in pvp!
