can use stock hboot. no problems
Ext partitions to use a2sd+ since desire has low internal memory for apps.
If wanna send back for warranty just flash back to stock rom then most of the time they won't know anything

custom rom 2.3 for now doesn't have sense launcher. Its stock android. Sense 2.3 is with HTC Sense launcher lor.
oh but internal memory shouldnt be a prob i think coz now 2.2 can install apps on the memory card
Of cos 'void' warranty. You buy something, you open up and change something, break it, not working, cannot repair, then send back for warranty, where can...

Most products are made to serve it's purpose not for you to tingle around

But of course in this sense, you can revert back since it's software based not hardware tweaking (gf OC)
um ext partitions right, I know that for simple App2SD+ don't affect the speed "MUCH"
BUT if you use DATA2- THEN Class matters. I suggest just get class 4 is enough

Unless you're transferring almost everyday from pc to phone or vice-versa then class 10 is good for you.
Higher class = Higher Write speed to SD from w/e. 2 = 2mb/s, 4 = 4mb/s so 10 = 10mb/s...

side note: Ext 4 partition is said to shorten the lifespan of the sd card so avoid that if possible (but not really avoidable if you use DHD rom? (not sure) or Data2Whatever Roms...
(Not sure about this but playing with ext is slightly 'dangerous' as chance of SD going RIP is higher so if you make ext, make sure make monthly backups or something)
