Too bad Morrisson won't feature in the game. Probably trying to take him off the firing line and keep a low profile for a while.
Hope Pogba and/or Tunnicliffe will play some part.

Fletcher-Scholes-Carrick
Nani-Berbatov-Rooney

What a bad time to lose Ando. We lose him around this time too last season and we really missed him at the latter stages where he could have made a difference. He's been having trouble with that knee of his after he burst into form in January. Wonder why the club continue to play him even when it's apparent that he has trouble to even run at full speed. He was playing at walking pace a few weeks back after he came on as a substitute. With games coming thick and fast, we will miss him again. We better hope Fletcher and Carrick wakes up far more regularly and Gibson provide a meaningful contribution. This is his chance.

i'm worried to given the fact that we aren't playing good football away from home. with next 3 games will be 3 hard away games, i really hope the players can repair their recent performance.
at the moment our midfield hardly being our creative force. i wonder if without both Giggs and Scholes in one game what will happen. maybe the likes of Fletcher, Carrick and Gibson will step up but i do hope they would shake off those mispassing. this cannot carry on. mybe sometimes it went unpunished, thanks to our defenders or the opponent failure to make something out of it but sooner or later it will. that enough could cost us valuable points dearly.

Getting Anderson back fit 100% would be key to that, although even he can't help to up the performances of Carrick and Fletcher. But at least with Carrick he's doing things at a good level for his role. Fletcher have been really bad this season. Misplacing passes all over the place almost all the time! Consider how big his role was in the difficult game over the years you'd know why we are struggling away from home. For the creative things, we need Ando(aside from Scholes) and two proper wingers(Park/Valencia/Giggs on the other side of Nani). Too bad Ando is out injured right now. Hopefully he'll come back in far more healthy state that he has been in the last month or so where he struggled to run at full speed and taking it easy most times.

For now, we just need to weather it and hope for the best, along with praying that Scholes is healthy most times. Park/Valencia returning should help ease that burden a little.

QUOTE(kamkamparadise @ Feb 25 2011, 05:30 PM)
talking about Anderson, which position do u guys think that would suited best for him? or should i say, bring out the best of Anderson? currently we often saw he occupied the CM birth with attacking mindset. he certainly also have the defensive capability in him too. would he fit to play behind the striker just like what Meireles and Van der vaart are doing at the moment?
*
He doesn't have the class, composure and guilge to play in that in-the-hole role IMO. Although he was more attacking before he came to us but that was before he got that serious knee(?) injury. He's better suited to the CM role. Someone should play ahead of him and his partner(whoever that is) if we go with a 4231.

QUOTE(onepack @ Feb 25 2011, 05:44 PM)
we usually play with 2 striker and depend on our winger going forward doing most of the attack with fullback also goes forward to support.

so ando current CM style should stay. it might not bringing out the best from him but it fit the team style and approach. what he need is more matches as he hv shown improvement and more comfortable playing tht role

Added on February 25, 2011, 6:00 pm

ando present definately bring more creativity comparing to fletcher and carrick.
for me fletcher hv always been more of defensive CM type. box to box type.. not quite agree him misplacing pass all the time.
got no complain of him. still working very hard for team. he hv misplace pass but he also win many. still among the engine going up and down

carrick the one who hv been dissapointing from last season. he might not be bad but u know he can do much better. few season back he look most creative player on the side behind scholes with better pass and reading of the game
*
Fletcher have been a lot worse this season. But Carrick really should be able to show that he's the man instead of looking like he's trying to hide himself on the field. We'll spend this summer in that area to replace Hargreaves(not necessarily same kind of player). And if Carrick is still hiding in that shell of his come next season, he won't be a regular anymore.

Added on February 25, 2011, 7:17 pm"Not much has changed on the injury front. We're trying to get Ryan [Giggs] fit for the Wigan game. Michael Owen is back training and could be available for tomorow. Rio Ferdinand and Jonny Evans should both be back for Liverpool next weekend.

"Ji-sung Park is still two weeks away. Anderson will probably be back in three weeks, he's back in Portugal now and we'll have to see how he progresses.

"[Antonio] Valencia is doing well in training but it's difficult to assess when he'll be back. We have to make a decision as to how he feels given he's been out for so long. He could be back in two weeks hopefully.

"Wigan are a team who play fantastic football. It's obviously a concern that they've relaid the pitch, although I understand it's okay. It'll be a difficult game but at this time of the season they're all difficult. It's important that we keep our momentum going because the team who is most consistent will win the league."

Either one of Wesley Sneijder or Bastian Schweinsteiger would make a lot of different in Man Utd team

If Van Der Vart can perform this well at Spurs, I can imagine how well excellent those 2 would be rolleyes.gif
*
VDV would play behind Rooney/Berba unless we shift him out wide. Same goes for Sneijder. Consider that we play 442 quite regularly, and already have the likes of Valencia, Park, Nani, Berbatov, Rooney, Hernandez.. it's hard to accommodate them. Would be useful whenever we play 433/4231.

Schweinsteiger would have been great. No chance we gonna rob a bank anytime soon to get him.

Henderson, Defour.. SAF is known admirer of those two. Rodwell does look classy(not skillwise). Can see us go for these kind of signings. British=Expensive or those not so expensive nobody-yet.

Hope not. Against the big teams it's ok. But in these sort of games, we're crap using that 433.

442 FTW!!

We were threatening all game. Hernandez could have scored more than 3 today. That's the kind of player he is. He gets lots of chances, and he would miss them, but he'll get one in for sure sooner or later. Wigan threatened us too all game long, but we could have gotten a lot more than 4.

Rafael is fit again right? We should be all right. It's not the first time he would have to play in the big games. He's done it plenty of times in the past.

Does anyone still doubt Gibson's ability? That lad surely got the thing inside of him, but he needs game to prove.

Funny I still don't see O'hara's name around here, eventhough I saw a Hamsik, and the usual VDV, WS, JR. He is a versatile CM player, can score goals, creative and English. Or maybe because he's English his name doesn't come out here?  sweat.gif
*
He need to get himself involve more in play. He's pretty good player actually passing the ball around quickly. But when he doesn't get involve, he does nothing aside from just running forward. He can spot and pick a good pass.. there's surely a good player somewhere waiting to come out. Hope with more games, he'll be able to improve and show it more consistently.

Nikola Zigic slips Lee Bowyer through and he is brought down by Wojciech Szczesny. That's a penalty, or else it would be if Bowyer hadn't been flagged offside. Replays show he was clearly ON.

1606: Safe to say that Wojciech Szczesny would have been sent off if Lee Bowyer hadn't been wrongly flagged offside at 1603. And it would clearly have been a penalty too. So, a massive let-off for the Gunners, and a big talking point for us...

Referee is on Arsenal's side? Impossible!
