Great performance by both English clubs in the CL, it's good to see that BPL can dominate the games. Gotta proved the FIFA/UEFA heads wrong lol.

English teams have always been dominating UCL for the past half a decade, bar last season. from Liverpool's 2005 victory till Barca's win over us, every final will feature an English teams. In fact, 3 consecutive seasons (2006-2007, 2007-2008, 2008-2009) there are 3 English teams in the semi finals. Only last season's UCL saw a dip. So i am not surprised if this season English teams will impress again.

Blatter and Platini are just stupid. They 'bising' on Citeh's and Chelski's transfer policies yet close their eyes over Barca's and Real's. They scared of English dominance in Champs League, hence put up stupid rules to strangle English teams. Claiming that English team don't produce talents and transfer policies are killing English teams. They don't see that those lopsided TV deals in Spain are killing smaller teams. No competetiveness at all. Both Real and Barca get away with murders.

U18s impress Neville
QUOTE United’s Under-18s may have lacked a ruthless streak in front of goal in the 1-0 FA Youth Cup fifth round win over Newcastle on Wednesday, but former Reds captain Gary Neville couldn’t fault the team’s approach play, particularly the impressive performances of goalscorer Ravel Morrison and Ryan Tunnicliffe and Paul Pogba. Morrison got the game's only goal, a spectacular finish worthy of winning a match United totally dominated, while Tunnicliffe and Pogba ran the show in the central midfield positions. Neville, co-commentating on the match for MUTV, was pleased with the skill, athleticism and application of the youth team trio. “They were the key players for us,” Gary said after the match. “Ravel deserved his goal. It was a great bit of a skill to create space for a fantastic finish. You don’t save those ones just under the bar. It deserved to win the match.” United are likely to play at Anfield for a quarter-final tie with Liverpool, who won 9-0 in their fifth round clash with Southend - winger Raheem Sterling, since called into their first-team squad, scored five. But Neville is confident the young Reds from Manchester will be more than a match for Liverpool. “Ravel was such a threat all night with his movement behind their midfield four,” added Neville. “Tunnicliffe and Pogba should dominate in any game they play and they impressed me. "Their touch, the strength and power they have, it’s difficult to contain. I can’t see that any team will have players better than those two in the centre of midfield.” However, Neville's only complaint was that United were profligate in front of goal, creating a glut of chances that went unconverted. He says the young Reds will have to be much more clinical against Liverpool. “The amount of chances we had was incredible,” said the former Youth Cup winner. “Newcastle did well and their keeper did quite well too, but we were perhaps not ruthless enough in front of goal. "We are going to have to get better at that in the next round because you won’t get that many chances in the quarter-finals, especially not against Liverpool.” Bright futures The three players in particular that caught Gary Neville's eye in the FA Youth Cup fifth round... Ravel Morrison Age 18 Key attribute His silky skill on the ball sets him apart. Best moment There were a few contenders, but his skill to create space for his goal and the shot itself were fantastic. Ryan Tunnicliffe Age 18 Key attribute Tireless, boundless energy and drive. Best moment His surging runs into the box are a great feature, unlucky after the break with a charge and shot that went just wide. Paul Pogba Age 17 Key attribute Combination of skill and athleticism. Best moment Brilliant ball skill and nutmeg created space for a first-half shot, similar skill teed up Tunnicliffe in the second 45. http://www.manutd.com/en/News-And-Features...o.aspx?pageNo=2 Coach praises Petrucci QUOTE Reserves manager Warren Joyce has paid tribute to Davide Petrucci, who made his long-awaited return from injury in last weekend’s Lancashire Senior Cup win over Oldham. The Italian has endured horrendous misfortune with injury since arriving at United in 2008. A pelvic injury in early 2009 sidelined him for eight months, before a relapse kept him out of action between January 2010 and last weekend. A half-hour cameo against the Latics provided the 19-year-old with a welcome return to competitive action, and his eye-catching display on the left of midfield served a timely reminder of his brimming potential. “It’s great to see Petrucci playing again,” Joyce told ManUtd.com. “The kid’s worked so hard over the past few months to get back, and he’s now had a spell of five or six weeks where he’s trained every day with the lads. “Once things got a bit relaxed against Oldham and we went 3-0 up, it was a good time to put him on. I nudged him and said ‘just go and have that Zidane role on the left’, and he just looked at me and smiled. But to be fair, he picked up clever positions and I felt a bit sorry for their full-back. “He’d had Gabby (Obertan) running at him for an hour and then he was posed with a different problem; not actually having anyone up against him, somebody in clever positions so he didn’t know whether to go in or stay back. “I’m pleased to see him playing again, and I was also really pleased with how he played. He’s so smooth on the ball and comfortable in possession, and I was really pleased with how he did. He’s worked so hard and he deserves it.” http://www.manutd.com/en/Players-And-Staff...r-Petrucci.aspx |

Owen season in doubt
QUOTE February 17, 2011 Michael Owen looks set to miss Manchester United's final weeks of the season as he suffered a groin injury at United's Carrington training base. Owen, 31, has struggled with injuries during his career and spent three months out from October with a hamstring injury. His latest complaint reportedly occurred during shooting practice, with the Sun claiming that he told the club's coaching staff that his 'groin had gone'. The striker has undergone a scan and is now expected to be sidelined for over a month after he was set to start against non-league Crawley in Saturday's FA Cup fifth round clash at Old Trafford. Earlier this week, manager Sir Alex Ferguson claimed that Owen could play an important role in United's title run-in. ''I keep trying to get myself into a situation where I can play Michael Owen more often,'' he said. ''I haven't been completely fair that way. He is a terrific trainer and every time I play him he never lets me down. ''Michael is a phenomenal player in and around the box. You can make similarities in physique to Javier Hernandez. In and around the box, both of them are very dangerous players.'' http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story/_/...-injury?cc=4716 |

Real spend last season to buy new players but nothing being said by blatter and platini but when city and chelski bought a new player, kena taruk back. ini semua kroni spanish.. and the TV deals like u said, really kill those small team. pity them. |
