i was in the same situation. got ylod on my fat ps3. bought a new slim ps3 with local warranty. learned a hard lesson that buying anything without local warranty will burn a hole in your wallet.

There is a high chance that all share accounts will be gone after PSN comes back online because Sony is rebuilding PSN database from scratch after they found hackers were downloading games for free.
