hairaul,

2 ways, get yourself an iPod Touch or just install NitDroid into your N900. tongue.gif

Symbian will work too but not recommended cause the data connection connectes continuously draining battery. =.=

NITDroid definitely worth playing around for average users.MeeGo not yet.

Milestone 3...Looks nice...
Especially when rumored HTC Doubleshot aka MyTouch 4G looks ugly.

Seems right to say a refined Symbian than a direct replacement of N900. But if you were to put the physical keys out of your mind, you will see, it's the bloodline of Maemo and I can't stop admiring the design. It's so nice. laugh.gif

LoL; Actually aside from the Nokia word, the Maemo OS feel totally doesn't feel Nokia, as Nokia is usually known for their Symbian OS; You show to people, they wouldn't know it's a Nokia until they see the branding on the phone. I have few people interested people asked me, Nokia got such phone??? This one really not something that is common for Nokia.
*
Yes, I get all the same reaction, Nokia got this phone? biggrin.gif

QUOTE(Andy214 @ Jun 21 2011, 05:37 PM)
Can mer? Can't wor, I even tried over-clocking and play using mplayer. Maybe the bitrate/quality different?

bloodline? I don't see any wor.
No Desktop. I don't see homescreen as well, feels like iFruit.
Icon looks like Symbian Anna.
Colour is white/gray; Maemo has this cool black and glowing blue trademark, which makes it really cool.

When you first boot up Maemo for the first time to set the settings (clock, region, etc), it's already sooooo coool, standing out from the rest of the mobile phone OS.

I don't see where is the similarities with Maemo. As with the design, I don't see the similarities of bloodlines from N900, probably bloodlines from N8, while N950 from E7 (which also bloodlines from N8).
The closest design to N900 was probably the Motorola Milestone/Droid, and you can see, up till the 3rd generation, it still retain it's look, it's bloodlines.
*
Can. smile.gif Later I try again. Maybe your format or something larh.

I got few people saw my phone. "Wah, what phone is that? I looks very keng" haha;
Some people don't mind the bulkyness of the phone, they actually like it as long as it's powerful and provide many features; But if the phone is simple, then it become a question why it is so bulky.

What about YouTube video at 480p? I can't play that too, can play but very laggy and slow, audio out of sync.

LoL, now that's bad.  tongue.gif
Haha, you're same with BuFung!

anything overclocked will shorten the expected lifespan of a machine, either your display card, cpu or even your phone, and you void your warranty if anything goes wrong

p.s. who is going to use the phone for over 3 years anyway tongue.gif
*
Lots of people who are using Maemo devices. laugh.gif

Anyway, who cares if it's overclocked cause you can restore it to default clock speed. smile.gif

Ask any N900 users and I'm sure they're more interested in N950 than N9 because of the physical qwerty. biggrin.gif

i like to ask if anyone of the sifus has tried to boot any meego OS or nitdroid in their N900?
thinking to boot if can and i need your advice here. is Nitdroid stable to use now?
appreciate your responses.

Nitdroid is stable but about calls and messaging, I'm not sure. Haven't tried for some time.

Meego is only for serious power user. My advice is not to play with it. laugh.gif
If you want, let me know how it is. biggrin.gif

Hello everyone, I'm new to N900. Going to buy a 2nd hand N900 from someone.

I've shifted to Android and never turn back to Nokia ever since, but N900 really impressed me that Android can be installed.
I've studied NITdroid, but somehow confused that calls & SMS is not 100% supported yet.

I thought of using N900 with NITdroid as my primary phone, but since calls are not supported yet, I'll wait for next update on N900 then.
At the meantime, I'll buy this N900 first.

From what I see, it has been a long time since NITdroid release the stable version of Gingerbread and I hope that calls will be allowed in next update.
*
Not advisable. Just get an Android phone straight. smile.gif

no offence but it is for your own good blush.gif
If you ask about it last year, we will recommand you to buy, but now, don't think it is a wise idea.

an off topic question:--
other than N900 has rdesktop, any other phone got such capability?
*
iOS has Teamviewer to do the job. biggrin.gif
